When It's a Half Day of School...

Yesterday my big kids had a half day of school! It sure is nice to have a little breather in the middle of the week! Whew!
After I picked them up from school, we headed out for some afternoon fun!
Our first stop was Holbrook Park.
We packed a picnic lunch and then spent a good while on the AMAZING playground!
(And the weather was just perfect!)
After we wrapped up our time at the park, we loaded up and went a block or so up the street to visit DPK!
The afternoon was the BEST time to visit!
We got to enjoy it so much more because it wasn't so crowded!
We definitely made the most of an afternoon together!
Looking forward to our spring break which is right around the corner!

Our Own March Madness

These last few days have been filled with family, fun and just regular life.
Here is just some of the craziness that has been happening over here...
We were busy making memories with our Florida family last week. Matt's brother and his family came up for a visit over their spring break! We were so excited to spend a few days with them!
I didn't take too many pictures of our time together, but we had a blast. One of the highlights of our time together was our trip to the bowling ally! It was a bit crazy with are big crew, but everyone had a blast!
Parker had spring pictures at school last week...
I don't usually buy any, so I just snapped my own before school:)
He looks so big to me here! I can't believe he will be FIVE in just a few weeks! I am so thankful that  he won't be heading off to kindergarten quite yet. We are hoping that he will get into a sweet little TK program at a school right down the road from us! If not, we might just do a little homeschool year;) We'll see!
Jake just finished up his season of basketball and is now starting baseball. Parker wanted to play, but is just practicing this year with the big boys...
I also lost my Grandpa this month. Even though we lived miles apart and didn't see each other often, I loved him very much. He always told me that he loved me and that he was so proud of me. I have nothing but sweet memories of him. He loved well and left an amazing legacy for his 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren!
He will be missed, but he loved Jesus so I will see him again!
That's all for now! We are gearing up for a great last week in March!

A Lucky Day at Preschool...

Today Parker's preschool class celebrated St. Patrick's Day!
They all had to wear green and even got to enjoy a special rainbow snack:)
They also know that a sneaky little leprechaun likes to show up each year and have a little fun with them! Parker said he was SO EXCITED about today:)
The leprechaun came and he did some really silly things to their classroom! They tried to catch him, but just like last year...he got away!
Maybe next time...

Celebrations, Seussical, and SNOW!

Here is a little of what's been going on in our life this week...
Jake just wrapped up another season of basketball. This year was extra fun because his buddy Hayden was able to play on the same team as him! Thursday night the team enjoyed supper together and celebrated their great season!
Friday night my big kids and I met up with some friends of ours for a fun night out. We went to their house for a pizza party and then saw "Seussical the Musical" at the local high school.
What a fun show to see! We loved it!
Saturday night we did a little celebrating with my family. My sister and I always celebrate our birthdays together because they are just a few weeks apart! It's always a good time when we're all together!
Sunday morning we woke up to SNOW falling!!! After an unseasonably warm winter, getting snow was a big surprise!
It was so pretty coming down, but didn't last long at all.
I took the kids out after church to play for a few minutes, but by the afternoon everything was gone!
Sissy and I built this little snowman out of what was left.
He's the last bit of winter fun in our yard:)

A Field Trippin' Kind of Week

This week both of my big kids had school field trips!
Matt took the day off of work and joined Sis on her field trip! They were off to enjoy a day at Discovery Place together! One of our favorite places!
They enjoyed several of the exhibits that we normally get to see....
But also got to participate in a teaching time and learn all about rain forests!
They loved their special time together and even stopped for a pizza lunch on the way home!
I got to join Jake on his class field trip later on in the week. We went to a really cool place that I have been wanting to visit! It is called Atomz Lab. It's a fun science place!
It is not a very big place, but it is definitely packed with TONS of science fun!
The kids learned SO much from the instructor and then got to participate in many hands on science activities! They loved it!
It was definitely a fun week of learning!
