Aw Shucks!!!

The little ones and I had a fun morning together this week. We made a visit to Aw Shucks Farm!
We had never toured this farm before, but they were having a special preschool day, so we decided to check it out before it even opens to the public for the fall season!
The kids got to participate in the Little Hands Farm Tour. It was just perfect for my two!
We learned how to plant corn, saw lots of farm animals, and even got to feed some goats!
We learned about chicken eggs and got to collect our own too! The kids LOVED it (especially because we just tried fresh chicken eggs for the first time last week)!
 Check out these pig's names:)
They had LOTS of bunny rabbits for us to see!
Each preschooler got to pick out a pumpkin to take home!
These were the perfect size for little hands and our guide said they were sweet pumpkins...
just perfect for pies!
They had to "pay" for their pumpkins with their "Aw Shucks Bucks" that they earned from taking care of the farm! So cute!
The kids got to enjoy a tractor ride around the farm and then spent lots of time on the playground areas!
Lot's of swings, slides, forts, and tree houses to explore!
We finished up our day with a picnic lunch and made it back just in time to pick up the big kids from school. The only thing that would have made our day better is if they were with us!
Welcome Fall!

Two Year Check Up

This past week I took Emery to the doctor for her two year check up!
Weight: 27.8lbs. (65%)
Height: 35 3/4 in (90%)
Head Circumference: 47 1/4 cm. (50%)

Dr. B asked me several questions and took a good look at my girl! She is looking great!
She did have to get one shot in her little leg, but the nurse was super quick! Emery cried for a second, but was ok after a few hugs from Parker and I!
It must have gotten sore later on in the afternoon though because she kept saying "boo boo" and pointing to her leg. So sad:(

Love my girl and I am so thankful she is healthy and strong!

The Fair is Here!

Today I took my little ones to the fair for preschool day!
I was really looking forward to the day, but knew I would miss my big kids being with me. I almost pulled them out of school for the day, but Matt convinced me to just enjoy my time with the little two. I LOVE this day. It's such a fun morning and one of my most favorite outings that I get to do with my kids!
We invited a few friends to come with us which made our day even better!
We spent the morning visiting a few different stations.
We learned about honey bees, butterflies, and gardening and Parker and I even saw a chicken get loose! One of the fair workers had to catch him and put him back in his cage:)
Our favorite station was the petting zoo (and seeing the pregnant pot belly pig)!
My kids loved petting the animals and seeing them up nice and close:)
Emery was way braver than I thought she would be!
After we did all of the inside things we headed outside for our most favorite part...
We got to watch Robinson's Racing Pigs!
It is always a treat to watch those pigs run the track or swim a lap for an Oreo cookie!
It was a sweet day with my little ones at the fair!
We LOVE when the fair comes to town!

Celebrate Being TWO!

Emery got to celebrate her special day a few different times!
We decided this year to keep things simple and just celebrate with our families as a few other members have September birthdays too!
Earlier this month Emery got to celebrate with her cousin Sophie!
We had pizza and cake and got to swim one last time in their pool!
Then Emery got to have a sweet birthday celebration with her Poppa!
We had Poppa and Memaw over for supper one night and opened gifts with them!
On Emery's real birthday we took her to Chick-fil-a! Definitely a favorite of ours!
We all ate and then I brought some birthday cookies for us to enjoy!
Such sweet times celebrating September birthdays!

You Are TWO Today!

Today we celebrate Emery's SECOND birthday!
I can't believe my baby girl is TWO!
You have really grown up over the past few months. You love to do things on your own and always try to keep up with Jake, Sissy, and Parker:)

You are such a sweet girl, but definitely have a little sassy side too!
You will let us know if you want something and if we are taking to long to get it:)

You are in bed around 7:00pm each evening and are usually up a little before 7:00am.
You have to nap in the car each afternoon while we pick up the big kids from school.

You are a pretty good eater. I felt like you went through a picky stage, but now you do pretty well. You also understand that if you don't eat all of your dinner, you don't get dessert. If you have food left and we tell you that, you usually clean your plate right up! You LOVE a good treat!
A few of your favorite foods are yogurt, chicken nuggets (with ketchup), chips (with lots of dip),
fruit snacks, bananas, peaches, pizza and tacos. I can't get you to eat green beans:)
You LOVE apple juice, but will drink milk and water too:)

You are wearing size 2T and 3T clothes and a size 5 shoe (you LOVE shoes). You wear a size 5 diaper, but are close to being potty trained! I wasn't out to train you. You just kind of picked it up on your own!
Such a big girl!

You LOVE to play outside. You love to ride your bike and draw with chalk. You LOVE to ride in the Barbie jeep. You try to drive it sometimes, but I try to convince you to leave that to Sissy! You love to swing out back and like to go for walks down the street. You LOVE the pool! We had such a great summer. You will wear your floaties sometimes, but prefer to play without them! Every time we drive past the pool you shout "hi pool"!

You are a mommy's girl still, but are slowly warming up to others. Sunday school is NOT your most favorite place, but you are getting better. You are often a "buggy rider"! Ha!

You are starting to say a lot of things. You will repeat pretty much anything we ask you to.
You say all of our names very clearly and when we say "I love you" you just say "too". Ha!

You LOVE to help me in the kitchen. When you hear me in there, you come running and say "help too"! I always sit you up on the counter and you help me "mix, mix"!

You LOVE Minnie Mouse! Ever since we went to Disney last year, you can't get enough of her!

You love books! Any books! We usually read a few before bed each night. Your favorite lately is probably "Where's Spot?".

I rock you each night for a few minutes before I put you in your bed. You have to have your lovies just right and you snuggle right in with me! I try to soak in those sweet moments with you! They are precious!

You are one loved little girl!
Happy Birthday, Emery Caroline!

I love this sweet boy and am looking forward to a great school year ahead!

The Thrill of Carowinds!

We took the kids on a surprise trip to Carowinds this past weekend!
I think we picked the most GORGEOUS day to visit!
We had LOTS of fun to get to, so we arrived right when the park opened!
We spent the first half of the day enjoying all of the theme park rides.
We tried to pick out a few that would make everyone happy and enjoyed those for a while!
After a good bit of morning fun, Matt ran out to grab us lunch...
And then we moved on to the waterpark!
We were ready to cool off just a bit:)
This girl LOVED all of the splash pad areas! She didn't want to leave!
Matt took Jake on some of the bigger slides while the rest of us enjoyed the wave pool and sprinklers!
Jake found this sign and thought is was pretty cool that he could be in South Carolina AND North Carolina at the same time:)
It was such a great day! A super way to celebrate a long weekend!

Apples Everywhere!

Saturday we took the kids up to the mountains to pick apples!
We have gone the past several years and it's such a fun time. The perfect way to welcome in fall!
We always try to invite some friends to go with us. It just makes the day more fun!
This year we had quite the crew! Such sweet friends!
Jake knew just what to do in the orchards. He knew what to look for and could find the best ones on the trees:) He likes Red Delicious apples, but they weren't ready, so we picked Galas! Perfect for eating, baking, and making apple sauce!
I love days like this with this girl! She always has so much fun!
She was happy because her sweet friend Ruby joined us this year!
My Brooklyn loves apples! She really just likes them plain, but does enjoy them with some peanut butter too:)
Parker is always such a huge helper and filled up his bucket in no time!
He LOVES apples and will eat them pretty much any way I give them to him. We stopped by the grocery store on the way home from the orchards and bought a carton of caramel for us to eat with them! So yummy!
The boys picking apples with their daddy...
This is Emery's third time to the orchards! She picked a few with our help, but ate probably three or four while we were out there! Ha!
She loved everything about our day! The picking, the tractor ride, and of course the donuts and apple slushies we bought!
We picked the most perfect day to go and had a great time with our friends!
Apple picking always makes us ready for fall! Can't wait for all of the fall fun we have ahead of us!

Keeping Busy

I can't believe we are into the month of September! Things are about to move into high gear around here! We have tons on our fall calendar and I can't wait!
Here's what has been happening over here lately...

These two have been in school now for about 2 1/2 weeks. We are slowly adjusting to life at a new school. It hasn't all been easy, but we continue to press on and trust that the Lord has great things for us. Jake has made lots of great buddies (which I am so thankful for) and Sis has already learned so much! She still gets a bit nervous each morning (a few tears and tummy aches) but always comes out at the end of the day with a big smile on her face:)
While the big kids are gone during the day, the little ones and I try to stay busy. We have done some cleaning and organizing (Parker LOVES to be my helper), but we have also had some fun days too!
We met up with some friends at the aquarium earlier this week which was a super special time!
We saw lots of cool sea creatures and even got a behind the scenes tour! Pretty cool stuff!
Parker will head back to preschool next week! I am so excited for him! Mrs. Bernie is his teacher this year (Brooklyn had her last year) and we LOVE her! We already know so many kids in his class which is so fun! We went to Open House this week and he got to see his classroom (she has it decorated like an enchanted forest) and get things ready for him to head back!
He is in for such a great year!
And this girl certainly can't be left out!
She will be TWO in just a few weeks (tear)! I can't believe it! She is such a big girl to me now. She loves to do things on her own and is almost potty trained! What? Crazy! Love her to bits!
We have a BIG (I mean REALLY BIG) weekend ahead of us! It is PACKED full of fun!
So thankful for long weekends and fun times with my family!
