Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow!

It was bound to happen to me sometime...

Today my Parker decided to give himself a haircut. Ugh!
He was a bit quiet for a few minutes, so I went looking for him. I just KNEW he was into something!
I heard the buzz of the clippers going in our bathroom and I got a HUGE lump in my throat. Sure enough, I walked in to see him standing in a pile of RED HAIR!

I was in SHOCK! I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, so I did a little of both!
He cut RIGHT down the middle and used the clippers with NO guard!
I called Matt in a panic and then sent him a picture. He made an appointment for me at the barber, but because there was no "fixing" it, Papa just came over and shaved the rest of it off. That was one of the hardest parts...watching all of the rest come off:(

Every time I ask Parker what happened to his hair, he just looks at me and says, "it grow back"!
Yes, buddy, it will:) And, we really hope it comes in red again;)!

Another Burst of Winter

We had more ice and snow head our way this week!
Tuesday morning we had a burst of snow come down for a couple of hours. It wasn't enough to call off school for Jake, but Sis ended up having the day off of preschool.

Sissy and Parker got all bundled up and played in the backyard for a good while, while Emery Caroline and I watched from the window:)

Our next batch of winter weather rolled in last night. It started out as BIG, FLUFFY snowflakes, but later on turned into some rain. We were supposed to get 7-10 inches, but we didn't get that much. By this morning, what we did get, was turning into a slushy mess fast.

The kids played for just a few minutes, and even tried to sled, but got wet and cold pretty fast:)

The roads melted pretty quick throughout the morning, so Matt ran out and got us lunch and a movie!
We spent the rest of the afternoon inside watching movies, playing games, and cuddling on the couch!
This sweet one hasn't been feeling 100%. I took her to the doctor the other day and she has been fighting an eye infection. I bundled her up and took her outside for just a few minutes, but we mostly stayed warm by the fire!

Tomorrow we are back on our regular schedule!
We are over the snow in this house and are ready for the warm, spring days ahead!

Two Teeth!

This sweet little lady has two bottom teeth now!

I thought that they might be popping up soon!
Last Friday one came up and then the second one came up a couple days later!
What a BIG girl!
XOXOXOXO

Ice Cold

We had been watching the weather reports all day long trying to figure out when the winter weather would be heading our way and what exactly we would be seeing! We were hoping for some snow (Jake said he had butterflies in his tummy just thinking about snow coming), but we ended up getting mostly just ice. But, it was enough ice to have a fun day off of school and enjoy just being around the house! The "no school tomorrow" phone call came just as we were putting Jake to bed! We ran in his room and jumped on top of him and told him to get back up...there was NO SCHOOL TOMORROW! Whoo hoo!
Matt's work also closed, so he was able to be home with us too!

We didn't really get to sleep in on our snow day (the kids had a sleepover in our room), but we did enjoy a slower morning. After it warmed up just a little, I took Sis and Parker outside for a bit. We took a walk down the street and then played just a little.

Sissy's sweet friend Chloe came out and the girls had a blast sledding on the ice down the driveway!

After some cold weather fun, we spent the rest of the afternoon napping, playing UNO, watching movies and eating:)!

WE LOVE SNOW DAYS!

Girls Just Want To Have Fun!

Saturday was a VERY busy day for us. In between basketball games and Valentine socials, Sis and I (and Emery Caroline) got away for a little girls day out with some of our super fun friends!

Brooklyn and Ruby got to enjoy an afternoon of pampering at a new little kids spa in our area!

We first met up for a pizza lunch date and then headed over for their appointment:)

Each girl enjoyed a manicure, pedicure, and chocolate facial!

It was so sweet to watch them being pampered!

Sis and I were SO excited to spend the afternoon together at Painted Piggies and made some very sweet memories together!
I totally LOVE my girl!

We are so blessed to have these girlfriends in our lives!

Thankful for a day that we could just have fun being GIRLS!

Be My Valentine:)

We have spent the last few days celebrating Valentine's Day!

My sweetest and littlest Valentine!

Thursday, Brooklyn's preschool class had their sweet party! She was to create her very own Valentine mailbox for her special day (which she absolutely LOVED doing) and of course bring Valentines for all of her friends!

Her class had a fun Valentine snack, did lots of pink and red crafts, face painted, and had a very sweet "candlelit" lunch! For dessert, Mrs. Shana helped them make a chocolate lava cake in the crockpot!

On Friday, Jake's kindergarten class had their celebration! The kids and I got to go and enjoy his party with him!

Jake's class played a fun game, enjoyed a plate full of sweet treats, and passed out Valentines!

Then on Saturday night Matt and I finally got to celebrate together! Whoo hoo!
My parents came over and kept the kids for us so we could go out.

We actually did something a little bit different for Valentines Day, but something that was so much fun! Our Sunday school class decided to have a social called "Love Is a Mystery". Several of our friends signed up to go and no one knew a thing about our evening!

When we arrived at the church, we all got a menu with several different items listed on it.  However, they were written in "love language", so we really had no idea what we were ordering. When each course arrived, we had no idea what might be on our plates! My first plate was spaghetti with cheese and crackers, but no silverware:) Or, many people had a delicious chocolate brownie, before their main dish arrived:)

We have such a fun class with many sweet friends!
It was a "LOVELY" way to spend our evening!

Happy Valentine's Day 2015!

Emery Caroline Is 5 Months!

Today my sweet Emery Caroline is 5 months old!
Each month is going by so fast!

She is the most precious baby ever and is still such a good girl!
She will smile at us, but tends to be a serious little girl:). She can sit up for a few seconds on her own, but definitely still needs our help.
She will play on her belly for a few minutes, but prefers to be in her exersaucer or bumbo looking around at everyone.

She is a dream baby when it comes to sleeping. She sleep 12-13 hours each night. She gets her last bottle around 8:30 and then goes to bed. She'll sleep soundly until 8 or 8:30 the next morning!
If we are not out and about running errands, she'll take a morning nap around 10:30 or so.

She is still only on bottles and will drink around 7oz. at a time. She eats every 3 hours or so during the day. We haven't started any rice cereal yet. Maybe in a few more weeks:) I'm in no hurry!

We don't go to the doctor this month, so I'm not sure how much she weighs or how long she is! All I know is that she is growing big and strong:)!
She is wearing mostly 9-12 month clothes and a size 4 diaper.

You are really starting to "talk" these days! It is so fun to hear you!
You have rolled over a few times, but you don't do it all of the time.
You might be starting to reach for me when I get close to you to pick you up! I love that!
You sometimes will give us a big open mouth kiss, which I LOVE. You also like to grab our hair and hold on to it tight! Stinker:)

Yesterday we went to the park and you LOVED swinging in the swing. You were content for a long time! I can't wait until the weather gets warm again so we can play outside more often!

Parker is still totally obsessed with you! He LOVES you so much! He kisses you all of the time and is still constantly in your face. Ha! Jake is so very sweet to you. He loves to engage you and is so gentle with you. Brooklyn loves to hold you! She always thinks it's her turn:)!

You are one loved little girl, Emery Caroline!

Happy 5 Months!

A Whole Lot of Lovin' Going On...

We are so excited about Valentine's Day coming up!
I love Valentine's Day because it's such a sweet and simple day! I love doing fun things with the kids and showing them how much I love them!

Last Friday the kids and I hosted a fun Valentine's Day party for some of our friends!

I read a couple of Valentine's Day books to the kids and then we had fun using our parachute!

Everyone brought a treat to share...

And the kids all brought Valentines to pass out!

Then yesterday Matt and I planned a Valentine Scavenger Hunt for the kids!
We came up with several clues that took them to several different stops.

The last clue led them to one of our favorite treat stops...Dunkin Donuts!
They found a little Valentine basket on one of the tables filled with chocolate treats and LoVe notes from Matt and I;) Then we all enjoyed a donut to end the night!
(Jake's giving our entire evening a thumbs up!)

I would love to make this a fun tradition for us!
We had such a good time!

We have lots of Valentine fun coming up this week too!
Can't wait to celebrate lots of LOVE this week!
