This Weeks Happenings...

We have mostly just had a normal week around here.
We have been kept busy with just our regular weekly routine!

I am SO glad that I get to spend my days with this (serious) little lady:)...

She is the sweetest ever and I LOVE being able to love on her all day everyday!
Goodness! I almost can't handle all that sweetness:)

Wednesday, I got a text from my good friend Emily asking me if my Brooklyn wanted to spend the afternoon at their house playing with her sweet girl Ruby! Emily had some things to get done around her house and wanted Ruby to have a playmate, but it ended up working out better for the girls to just play here! They played so well and had a great time! Lots of dressing up and Candy Land playing was going on!

I CANNOT believe that we are already half way through Jake's kindergarten year! In fact, today his class celebrated the 100th day of school! All of the kids were encouraged to dress up like they were 100 years old! Hilarious!!!

My little old man...

Jake and his amazing teacher, Mrs. M...

And Jake with KK!

Jake has made some great buddies this year and has grown so much, even in just the last few weeks!
We have been praying about what school might look like for him next year and are so excited to see what the Lord will do!

And speaking of school...this handsome boy got registered for preschool this week! How can that be?

I seriously can't believe it! Parker will be going to preschool two days a week starting in the fall. He will go to the same sweet school that both Jake and Brooklyn went to. I am keeping my fingers crossed that he will have the same teacher that the other kiddos had! We have LOVED Mrs. Shana!

One more random thought from this week...

Every afternoon we spend time in the car picking up Jake from school. Parker and Emery Caroline usually nap, so Sis and I get a few minutes to ourselves...girl time:)! She climbs up front with me and we usually take some time to chat a bit, or work on her Awanas for the week. This week we made a quick stop for frostys and enjoyed our little frozen treat while we waited!

She's the BEST carline buddy EVER! Love my girl!

Emery Caroline's 4 Month Check Up!

This morning I took Emery Caroline for her 4 month check up!

She is looking great and is growing big and strong!
Dr. B asked me all sorts of questions. She asked me about her eating and sleeping habits and then asked me some questions about some of the things that she is doing, like reaching for things, following us around a room with her eyes, and smiling and cooing. She said that we could start feeding her solid foods, but I usually like to wait until 6 months or so. Dr. B said that was fine because she wasn't lacking any calories;)

Emery Caroline weighed 18lbs.10oz. (97%). Her height was 26in. (95%), and her head was 41.5cm. (55%).

She got 3 shots in her little legs and she also had to take an oral one too.
She cried for just a second, but then was ok. She took a good nap this afternoon, but when she woke up I could tell that her legs were a bit sore. Poor baby!

Our next visit is for her 6 month check up!

Around and About Downtown

Most of our week was spent close to the house. We had plenty of housework and errands to keep us busy. But, by Friday, we were ready for some fun! The weather was gorgeous, so we were excited to get out and about!

We decided to head to one of our favorite places...ImagionOn!

We made it in time for their preschool story time and then had some fun playing on the computers and exploring all that they have to offer!

After a few hours there, we decided to do some new things that I had heard about that were close by!
It was just about lunch time, so we made a super fun visit to the 7th Street Public Market!
It is kind of like a food court with all sorts of food options! We ate at the little pizza place. The kids found seats right at the counter, so while we were waiting, we got to see the chefs making all the pizzas and sandwiches!

After our pizza, we all split a delicious chocolate brownie from the little bakery lady that was there!
I had such a fun day with my little ones, but I have to say that I was missing my Jake!
I wish he could have been with us, but we did save him a bite of our chocolate treat for when we picked him up:)

Emery Caroline Is 4 Months!

Today my sweet girl is 4 months old!
She is absolutely precious!

Many people say she looks like her big sister, Brooklyn! Sometimes I see it and then other times I really don't know who she looks like:)

You are wearing mostly 9 month clothes. You wear a size 4 diaper.
You had a yucky cold and cough a few weeks ago, so I took you to the doctor. At that appointment you weighed 17lbs. 7 oz.

She is smiling much easier these days, but her new trick lately has been reaching and grabbing for toys:) I just pulled out a whole basket of baby toys for her to play with! So fun!

I think she is also very close to rolling over from her back to her tummy. She gets about half way over, but can't quite finish it! There's a lot of belly to roll over;) Ha!

You don't mind being on your tummy...for a short amount of time. You hold your head up pretty good, especially if we are down on the floor playing and talking to you!

She is still eating great. She is eating every couple of hours during the day. She eats 6-7oz. at a time. I am still pumping all of her bottles, so the kids enjoy feeding her too! Sometimes that can be a BIG help to me:) She is starting to figure out how to hold her own bottle though. It's also a little funny when I hold the bottle up in front of her, she knows what it is! She gets excited! Ha:)

She is also a DREAM baby when it comes to sleeping. She naps well during the day and will sleep between 10-12 hours at night! She usually goes to bed around 8:30 or 9:00 and will sleep soundly all night long. I'll usually hear her start to stir the next morning between 8:00 and 9:00.
She is also very good about going to bed awake and falling asleep all on her own!

She will sit in her swing, bumbo, or exersaucer for a little while, but it's not her favorite. She definitely likes to be held:) She loves her mommy:)

She LOVES to have her hands in her mouth. She chews on them a lot! Jake got his first tooth at 4 months, so maybe we will see some teeth poking through soon??

You are cooing at us and will give us some sweet giggles from time to time too. You also have some sweet tickle spots that make you laugh:)

We LOVE you, Emery Caroline!
Happy 4 Month Birthday!

The End of Christmas Break...

The first week of our break was spent doing all things Christmas, but this past week we mostly had a wide open calendar! I loved not having much scheduled and being able to sleep in just a bit and not being in the car doing school drop off and pick up's each day!
We did have some yucky colds and coughs, so we tried to have some days of just staying in so we could get to feeling better!

Even though we had lots of down time, we had lots of fun too!
Our Florida cousins came for a visit and spent several days with us! We LOVE seeing them!
We had not seen them in about a year and a half, so it was fun catching up!

Since we had seen them last, we added Emery Caroline to our family and they added a sweet set of TWINS to theirs!

We also made some time over break to play with our friends!

Matt was out of town for several days at the beginning of the week and we had several rainy days, but we somehow managed to squeeze in some time with some of our FAVORITE friends for a fun morning out of doughnuts and the Nature Museum.

I really wanted to spend some time with just my kids too, so yesterday we headed to Discovery Place Kids! We needed a fun Christmas Break finale and this was definitely a great choice!

We spent several hours exploring all that they offer!
We hadn't been in several years, so it was such a treat to go!

We are not really looking forward to going back to school on Monday,
but ready or not, here it comes!
