Wrapping Up March!

Another weekend has come and gone! We always LOVE our weekends:)
This coming week is a bit exciting because in just a few days, Jake starts his spring break! We have no big plans, but plenty of simple fun to keep us busy.
Friday was kind of rainy and cold, so the kids pretty much stayed in their jammies all day!
Emery Caroline still has a little cold, so staying around the house was nice for her. She was a little fussy, so it was nice for her to just be home and gets lots of good rest.
Because of the rain, t-ball got cancelled all weekend. My inlaws had asked if they could take Jake and Sis to see the Harlem Globetrotters for some indoor FUN! They picked the kids up and took them to lunch and then to the show! They were SO excited!
They spent most of the day with them and were spoiled rotten:)
Jake even got a Globetrotter's basketball! He has played ball ALL weekend:)
On Sunday Matt and I served in Brooklyn's class at church. We had not taught in her class in a while, so it was fun to be with her!
Sunday evening I was supposed to go out with a group of girlfriends, but our plans changed.
I was so disappointed, but Matt and I were able to finish up some projects that we had started around the house.
We had a great weekend and can't wait for our SPRING BREAK to start!

Feeding Time!

We started feeding Emery Caroline some baby food this week!
We started out with some bananas and the other night we gave her some carrots. By looking at her smile and carrot stained face, it might look like she is enjoying her new foods, but she's really not a fan yet. I think more food comes back out of her mouth than she is keeping in right now:) She even puts her tongue up so I can't get the spoon in her mouth. Silly girl!
Jake told me the other day that he doesn't want her to grow up anymore...I think I agree with him!
She is getting too big...way too fast!

Keeping Up With My Kindergartner!

We had so much going on this past week! Each day was packed FULL!
Jake had several fun things going on at his school too.
Thursday night Jake participated in his school's spring musical and art show.

This was his art project that was on display!
I LOVE it! He did a super job!

My heart is always so full when I leave his school knowing that he is surrounded each and every day with teachers who love the Lord and who shepherd his little heart! Those little ones sang their hearts out for Jesus during the musical and it was just precious hearing them!
On Friday, the kids and I joined Jake's class for the "QU Wedding"!
Here he is signing the guest book:) Ha!

His teacher made the wedding so sweet and fun!
Jake has been working super hard this year on his reading. Each month the students receive a reading calendar and we mark on it each night that we read. If the students complete the calendar they receive a pizza coupon for a free pizza. Jake has received several coupons, so Friday night we finally decided to cash one in!
This boy is becoming a GREAT reader! I will pick up a stack of library books every so often and we always read through the entire pile! I am proud of YOU, Jake!
Then on Saturday Jake and I attended a Mother/Son event put on by the school.
It was at Defy Gravity! So many of his buddies were there and they had a SUPER FUN time!
I left with one very sweaty and very tired little boy!
I love my Jake and I was thankful for a night with my BIGGEST boy!

Catch That Leprechaun!

Yesterday I got to help in Brooklyn's preschool class for her St. Patrick's Day celebration!
It was such a sweet morning! My MIL came over and kept Parker and Emery for me so that I could just have some fun time with my Sis!
When I got to the school, I read a book to the class and then Mrs. Shana told the class that they were going to try to catch a leprechaun! She had lots of items set out for them to use to make leprechaun traps! After the traps were set, the kids went on about their day and when they came back to the room the sneaky leprechaun had made a HUGE mess!
After finding the BIG mess and no leprechaun in any of the traps...they each got a net and searched the entire school looking high and low for him!

No one ever found the leprechaun, but he did leave them some yummy treats to enjoy:)

I loved my morning spent with my girl!
I am one LUCKY mommy to have this little girl all mine:)!

Long March Weekends

Jake had a long weekend off of school and we were so glad!
We loved getting an extra day to spend with him!
Saturday morning was a bit rainy around here, so we decided to have some indoor fun at Discovery Place!
Jake hadn't been to DP since the summertime, so he was wanting to go and see the new Illusions exhibit that they had on display! It was pretty cool to see!
The kids always have a good time checking everything out! They each have their favorite things to do and see. Parker's favorite is the Air Chair:)
Love that sweet smile!
After we finished up at Discovery Place, we were all a bit hungry! We ate at Burger Co. and decided to sit outside on their patio since the rain had cleared out! The kids loved it and we were glad to see the sun shining and to be finally getting some beautiful fresh air!
This girl loved sitting in a highchair at the table with us and was hoping to get a bite of something good:)
If you look close, you can see her sweet little teeth popping through!
On Monday we decided to take advantage of the GORGEOUS Spring weather and picnic and play at Freedom Park!
We don't go to this park often, but it is one of our favorite places to go!
There is so much to see and do and play! We were there for HOURS!
Matt worked a half day and got to come with us, so that made our day EXTRA special!
We finished up our afternoon with a trip to DQ for free ice cream day!
I definitely think we all have spring fever now!
We love LONG weekends and can't wait for more SPRING to come to the Carolinas!

Destination Disney!

Matt and I surprised the kids the other day and told them some REALLY BIG NEWS!
We are SO EXCITED to be taking the kids to see these guys this fall...

Image from google
We will get to spend an entire week there and enjoy all of the parks!
We are starting to plan all of our fun and WE CAN'T WAIT!
If you have any tips, tricks, or recommendations, please let us know! This will be our first trip:)

The kids are all so excited and I can't wait to see each of them experience it, but I am really looking forward to watching my sweet Brooklyn! She LOVES princesses and I know she will have the time of her life!
She asked me the other day if you can cry when you're really excited about something. I said that of course you could! She then told me that she was crying the other night in her bed because she was so excited about Disney! Ha!

Let the Disney 2015 countdown begin!

Happy Half Birthday, Emery Caroline

I seriously can not believe that EC is 6 months old!
These first six months have FLOWN BY, so I know the next six will too!
EC is doing great! She is still such a good baby and is sooooo easy:)!
We are all so in love with her!
I took her to the doctor today for her 6 month check up.
She weighs 20lbs 9oz (97%), is 28in long (97%), and her head circumference is 42.5cm (62%).
I haven't started any solid foods yet, but will pick some up this weekend so we can start! She also said that we could start trying out a sippy cup!
Let the FUN begin:)!
You are wearing mostly 12 month clothes and a size 4 diaper.
You are getting pretty good at holding your bottle by yourself! You eat every 3 hours or so during the day, around 7oz. each time. We feed you around 8:00 each night and then put you to bed. You are still sleeping so good! You sleep 12-13 hours each night!
You are always ready for a nap a few hours after you wake up. Sometimes we are home for you to do that, but sometimes we are out and about, so you just nap when you can:)!
You are sitting up great and love to play toys! I am so glad that the weather will be nice soon, so we can enjoy being outside more!
Many people say that you look like Brooklyn. I think you do too:)
You have two bottom teeth. You have lots and lots of sweet rolls!
You are a mommy's girl! If someone else is holding you, you will look around for me, just to make sure that I am close by!
You are still a pretty serious baby. You will smile when we talk to you and will giggle when we tickle you, but most of the time you just seem to be taking it all in:)
Everyone loves to engage you, but Parker is still your biggest fan! He is ALWAYS willing to hold you, feed you, play with you, or love on you!
You are definitely loved by your big brothers and sister!
We love you Emery Caroline!
It is fun to watch you grow...

 Happy 6th Month Birthday!
Daddy, Mommy, Jake, Brooklyn, and Parker

Bouncing, Birthdays, and a Beautiful Sunday!

We had such a nice weekend!
Friday night Matt had to work, so the kids and I ordered pizza and just enjoyed a night around the house. We read books and watched some t.v.

Saturday morning, we were all up early! Matt's school basketball team wrapped up their season a few weeks ago and everyone was invited to Defy Gravity for a celebration! We had never been there before, so it was a fun morning out!
My boy's bounced the ENTIRE time:)
The girls had fun too!
After we finished up there, the kids and I headed back home. We played outside for a bit and then got ready to go to my parents house to celebrate my sister's birthday and my birthday!
We always combine our celebrations because our birthday's are just a few weeks apart.

Sunday we went to church and my sweet EC went to the nursery for the first time. She'll be six months this week, so she was definitely ready to go!
We only went for one hour, so she was just fine...and I was ok too:)

After church was over, our SS class had a potluck lunch! I always enjoy catching up with our awesome friends! We are a part of such a terrific class! We had a great time and made it home just in time to have a nap and then play outside!
Matt played ball with the kids out back and then we all took a walk around the neighborhood.
So thankful for the longer, spring days ahead and the time we had together this weekend as a family!

Our Life This Week...

We spent much of the beginning of our week around the house. Matt took the big kids to church on Sunday, but I stayed home with Parker and Emery. Neither one of the little ones were feeling 100%.
Emery Caroline continued to fight her eye infection and a bad cold. It has taken her a while to shake it, but each day she is getting a bit better! She has been sleeping a lot and slowly getting her appetite back.

I am so glad to finally see this girl smiling again!

By mid week, the little ones and I were ready to get out of the house!
We decided to hit up DPK!

The kids could spend HOURS in this place!
They had fun painting, creating, dressing up, singing and playing!

We also enjoyed a morning out this week visiting our library for story time!
We haven't participated in a while, so it was something fun for us to do! Parker really enjoyed it. I might try to get back in the routine of going each week!

Speaking of back in a routine...this girl FINALLY got to go to preschool this week! She missed so many days because of the ice and snow. She was excited to get back and see her teacher and all of her sweet friends!

She also had a VERY IMPORTANT day to celebrate this week...
Donuts With Dad!!!

This years theme was sports, so everyone had to show some spirit for their favorite team!
She LOVES her daddy! Glad that they got to spend the morning together!
Jake also had a super fun week at school!
This week he celebrated Dr. Seuss! He had a fun theme each day like crazy sock day, wacky tacky day, crazy hat day, and green day!

In between all of THAT...Matt and I have been planning a HUGE SURPRISE for the kids!
We are keeping it a secret for now, but can't wait to share!!!
