How Do You Eat Your Oreos?

So, after the kids finished up their lunch yesterday I offered them some mini Oreos for a treat. Parker was the only one that wanted a few so I gave him a handful for him to enjoy. I was busy doing a few things around the house when I looked up and saw a big pile of cookies with every single one of them missing the cream! He would open each one of them up, take the cream out with his little finger and drop the chocolate cookie part in a pile next to him! Ha! He makes me laugh!

Our "Snowcation" 2014

This past week we got hit hard by a major snowstorm! For us to get any snow at all is a huge treat, but this was unbelievable! It began Tuesday mid morning. We managed to make it through our school day and stop by the library before it got too bad:)
It came down HARD but the roads were staying pretty clear. After the snow had stopped, I took the kids out to play! It was SO much fun! The kids loved it! Jake and I had a snowball fight and then we built this fun snowman!

We got the word that school was being called off for Wednesday. More snow was on the way!
Matt was called off of work too and we were all home together with no where to go! LOVE that!
Wednesday it snowed pretty much ALL day! We got several inches! We all went out to play for a while, but since it was still coming down pretty hard, Parker was not too happy. I took him in while Matt kept the big ones out.

We thought we were finished with the snowstorm, but it started again Thursday morning! We got several more inches! CRAZY!
After spending the morning inside, we all got bundled up after lunch and were ready to play! This time Parker was in heaven! We found a great hill in the neighborhood and spent lots of time over there making snowballs and sledding! The smiles and giggles were so fun to see!

Parker had the BEST time! He LOVED sledding! Every time Matt would say to load up the sled for a ride, he would run and dive on making sure he would get a seat:) He went down the hill several times with the big kids and then rode a time or two on his own! He always had the biggest grin on his face!

We really don't have any snow gear, but did the best we could to stay warm!
Matt and I LOVED watching the kids play! It was nice for life to slow down and just enjoy the simple life! Lots of cookie baking, movie watching, game playing, book reading, and nap taking:)

What a wonderful few days enjoying a "snowcation", but now I say, "Bring on Spring"!!!!

Lovin' It Up!

I LOVE Valentine's Day!
We always keep it sweet and simple, but of course still have lots of fun!

For the past couple of years we have done a little Valentine playdate at my sister's house with all of the little cousins. We do a few fun crafts, eat a Valentine's Day lunch, and then pass out some homemade Valentines to each other.

We always have a fun time together being with the ones we LOVE!

Matt and I usually keep Valentine's Day low key. Most years he is not even home due to his basketball schedule, but this year he just so happened to have the day off due to the snow! Yay!

He had asked his parents to come over and keep the kiddos while we enjoyed a morning out.
Our plan was to go out for breakfast at Panera Bread, but again, because of the snow, it was closed. So we ended up at McDonalds...the ONLY place open! Ha! After our breakfast, we had massages scheduled for the both of us. What a treat:)

We stopped by Dunkin Donuts on our way home and brought the kids heart shaped donuts and then just spent the rest of the day together!

Later on that evening, we took the kids out for cheeseburgers at a little burger place close to home...

I love this pic of my silly Parker:) My littlest Valentine!

Such a fun day spent with my LOVES!

Happy Valentine's Day 2014!

Parker is 21 Months!

Well, I am a little bit behind on my blogging, but I wanted to make sure I posted a little something about my Parker because he is now 21 months! We are in the middle of a snow storm here in the Carolinas, so I have had some time to catch up a little because everything has completely shut down!

This past Friday Parker turned 21 months.
He is just so much fun these days! He loves to play and loves to smile! This is such a fun age!

You are wearing 2T and 3T clothes, a size 5 shoe, and a size 5 diaper. You have worn all of Jakes old clothes! I have hardly bought you a thing!

You have bright RED hair and blue eyes! LOVE it!
You go to bed around 8:30pm and sleep until about 7 or 7:30 am. You always doze off on the way home from school each day (school days wear you out!), but I wake you up when we get home and then lay you down around 2 for your afternoon nap. You sleep until about 4:30ish.

You love to play outside! You love to play ball or just walk around and explore. You like to keep up with the big kids:)
You LOVE to dance too! It is SO funny! Anytime you hear music come on you start! Especially when you hear Mandisa's "Good Morning" or Big Daddy Weave's "Land of Glory"! Ha!

You are a great eater! Anything I cook, you eat! Your favorite foods are bananas, yogurt, spaghetti, sloppy joes, Doritos, veggie sticks, and TREATS! You love fruit snacks and starbursts:)

You are good at doing puzzles now, you know lots of animal sounds, and can say lots of words like ball, baby, no, snack, book, bus, more, doggie, snow, and night night:)

You LOVE to read books! You have a huge book bin in your room and you pick out books all the time to read and you even sleep with them! I don't think you have a favorite book. You LOVE them all!

You are a copy cat! Anything you see Jake or Brooklyn do, you do! Sometimes this is a good thing and sometimes it's not!

I just told your daddy that I think you are going to be my silly boy. I think you are going to be a little clown! You are just so fun and everyone loves Parker!

Happy 21 Months (a little late)!

Love you buddy!

Love,
Mommy

Just My Jake

My Jake has worked so hard for me at school this year. Even though he won't officially start Kindergarten until the fall, he has been taking several classes at GA while I am there teaching.
He has grown leaps and bounds and will be so prepared when he begins his Kindergarten year in the fall...wherever that may be:)
A couple of weeks ago while we were at the library I saw a sign for a fun night..."Legos at the Library". It was only for big kids, so I asked my MIL to come and keep the little ones so I could take Jake! I rarely get to spend just one on one time with my kids, but last night...it was JUST Jake and I! We both LOVED our time together! We don't have any Legos at our house, but I knew Jake would have a great time. It took him just a few minutes to get his creative juices flowing, but once he got going, he couldn't be stopped! We stayed the entire time just building and chatting!

Our night wasn't complete until we made a quick run though the Bo Jangles drive thru for a heart shaped bo berry biscuit;) Love that boy!

I love you Jake and am thankful to be your mommy! I am super proud of you and all of your hard work and I REALLY LOVED spending time with you last night!

Love you forever!

Snow, Sickness, and the Superbowl

The weather was a bit warmer on Friday, so I decided to take the kids outside to play and to enjoy the last little bit of snow that we still had in our yard! It was so fun! We didn't have to bundle up quite so much and our fingers, toes, and noses didn't get so cold!
Parker drove his trucks through the snow while Jake tried to sled and Sissy filled up her sand buckets with snow:)

Saturday wasn't quite so fun. Every time I think that we've done well staying away from any sickness, it takes one of us down. We have really stayed close to the house these last few days, so I thought we had stayed away from the germs, but yesterday afternoon my sweet girl went down. I felt so bad for her:( She had been looking forward to going to her best friend's birthday party for weeks now, but we ended up having to miss.
Such a bummer:(

After a little rest time on the couch, she was back to her normal self!
Thankful that it was QUICK and hopefully OVER!

I stayed home from church this morning to give B one more day to rest. I kept Parker with me, but Matt and Jake went. We were able to just rest and hang out this afternoon which was so nice.
Of course, the super bowl is on t.v. now, so my boys are totally into that.
Jake's cheering for the Seahawks:)

I must say after several days off, it is going to be very hard to go back to school tomorrow, but we are all packed up and ready to go!

Thankful for a weekend with lots of rest! We have a busy week coming up!
