Can't Get Enough of His Cuteness:)

Whenever I ask Parker if he wants to go to the pool and splash, he shakes his head "yes"!
It's so funny:) He just loves it!
Our warm summer pool days are coming to an end though, so we have been trying to squeeze in a few trips this week.
Next year he will be ALL over the pool!

Love my little fishy!

Friends and Happy Faces

Tonight I got to spend some time with my best friend, Marcy, and her little girl, Sophie!
We LOVE when our girls can get together and play! They are just so sweet together and enjoy being around each other!
Tonight we took them for an evening swim and then came back to the house for a little playtime!

This is Brooklyn's first ever smiley face. If you look closely you can see it:) She drew the face with two eyes and a mouth and then added two legs at the bottom! Ha! I was so proud of her. She drew this one in her SS class at church last week!

I just love my girl to pieces!
XOXOXOX!

First Day of School 2013

Yesterday was the first day of school for my crew. I always get a little nervous right before school starts because of the new schedule, but everyone did great! I am teaching six classes this year which is double what I have taught the last few years, and Jake is taking classes at GA too! I am thrilled for him! He will be more than ready to go to kindergarten next year! Brooklyn and Parker are hanging out with Mrs. N in the childcare room while I teach. I am so blessed with a WONDERFUL set up!

Jake gets a little nervous going to his first class of the day, but as soon as he is set, he is good to go! He is also such a big boy because they have to change classes when the bell rings, and he did fine! I was so proud of him!

Brooklyn had a blast in childcare. She was so excited to play with her sweet friends and new toys! They learned about the letter "A" yesterday and the letter "B" today. She told me today that "B" is for Brooklyn and Bible! LOVE!

Parker had a bit of a rough day yesterday, but did better today. He LOVES being with me and because we were around each other all summer, he is definitely attached:) I think just about every staff member took a few laps around the school with him yesterday! Ha!

I am thankful for a good start and look forward to all that the Lord has in store for us this year!

So Long Summer 2013

Well, yesterday was our last day of summer vacation. Come Monday morning, alarms will be ringing very early as we get ready for another school year!

Our last day of summer was spent with some of our most FAVORITE people...our cousins!
My sister Jenny and I took some of our little ones (Jake, Hudson, and Sophie) to Noah's Art for a special art class. They read one of our most favorite stories, "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" and did several projects based on the book! They had the best time ever and brought home some of the cutest art projects. They are now proudly displayed in our house;)!

After a picnic lunch, we decided to take the kids to celebrate the last day of summer with a cupcake at SAS! Each one picked out their most favorite cupcake and then piled it HIGH with sprinkles at the sprinkle station!

It was such a pretty day out and we wanted to enjoy it just a little bit longer, so we headed over to the little splash area. We didn't pack our suits, so we just splashed in our clothes! The kids LOVED it!

We have fully enjoyed every bit of our summer (and crossed almost everything off of our bucket list), but look forward to all that is in store for us in the next few months!

Good bye summer 2013.

Squeezing In a Little More Summer

Well, summer is just about over, but that hasn't stopped us from squeezing in a little more fun!

Last week I won four movie tickets through a local parent's magazine to see Charlotte's Web! I asked my sister to come along with us! We headed downtown to Studio Movie Grill at the EpiCenter and enjoyed a sweet morning out! The weather was a bit dreary, so a movie was the perfect thing to do!

We actually had a crazy break in the heat last week and experienced some very cool days! It was the strangest things ever, but it made for some wonderful playtime outside!

I am definitely a summertime girl, but the cooler weather did get me a tiny bit excited for fall;)

Today, I took the kids to a fun little class put on by Sign and Doodle. I had never heard of them before, but they were coming to our area and offering a free class. They do all sorts of cool things, and teaching kids sign language is one of them. In the short time we were there, they taught the kids so much! Jake picked up so much! I was very impressed!

Afterwards, Sissy found a sign for ice cream, so we decided to grab a treat. Sissy actually ordered a cup of chocolate ice cream, but when she saw my PINK fruit smoothie, she decided to "trade";). At least she was so sweet to share with Parker;)

We got home just after lunch time and none of us were very hungry since we just had our treats, so we decided to change into our suits and hit the pool for a bit! We hadn't been in a while, so the kids were so excited to go!

The water was a little cool for me, but the kids didn't mind a bit.

I have one more FUN day planned for us tomorrow before our summer days are over!
I'm trying to soak up every last sweet summer moment!

Family Beach Pics

Every year at the beach, we try to set aside one evening to take some family pictures.
With so many little ones, this can be quite the task! What goes on behind the camera is just hilarious, but I wanted to share a few of my favorites from this year...

I love this man so much! I am beyond grateful for him and the love that he shows me and the kids!

I love these next two of my Jake.
He is not always the most willing to take pictures, but I LOVE how these turned out:)

My sweet girl...

This little girl steals her daddy's heart for sure!

And mine too;)

And my sweet Parker...
He is usually so easy to get a picture of, but this night he was a bit tough. I did get this one of his sweet smile though!

My entire family (minus Steve this year).

My wonderful parents...

My parents and us kids!

My beautiful sisters and best friends! I love them dearly!

We were blessed with such sweet beach memories and an amazing family!

Parker's 15 Month Check Up

Today I took Parker for his 15 month well check up.
He is growing into a big boy!

He weighed 25lbs. 10 oz. (63%), he was 32 1/4 inches (78%), and his head circumference was 18cm (10%). Poor guy had to get 3 shots! Boo. He did great for the first two, but got pretty upset on the third one;(.

Dr. B checked him all out and then asked me a few questions. I told her that he has turned into a CLIMBER! He is up the stairs in a heartbeat and climbs onto my kitchen chairs all the time! Stinker!
He is saying a few words like Mamma, Dadda, Papa, bubble, more, and ball. He knows what a doggie says and still LOVES to be outside! He waves at people all the time and is usually all smiles! We are working on teaching him where his nose, ears, eyes, hair, and tummy are. He already knows where his toes are! He LOVES shoes;) He will put on any pair that are laying around or bring them to you and say "shoe". Ha!

He is off his bottle now (yeah!) and eats all sorts of things! His new favorite snack is string cheese. He wears a size 5 diaper and is in mostly 24 month and 2T clothes. He wears a size 5 shoe:)

He is still a mommy's boy. He likes for me to be close by and loves to play with me and sit on my lap!

I just LOVE my little boy!
Thankful for him!

I love you, Parker James!
Love,
Mommy

Life is Better at Surfside Beach

Last week my entire family (minus my brother Steven) and a few family friends packed up for our 24th year down at Surfside Beach! It is the absolute best week of the entire year! We always make such sweet memories, laugh and play a lot, and absolutely love just being with each other!

I have TONS of pictures to share because I don't want to forget anything about our week;)
We all agreed that this year was one of the best yet!

Jake LOVED everything about the beach, but I think his absolute FAVORITE thing was riding the waves! He usually had a cousin buddy to ride with and they would be out in the ocean for the longest time catching the perfect waves. He was so good at picking out the good ones and would ride until he was just too tired to catch anymore!

He also tried a little skimboarding. This was a bit trickier than boogie boarding, but he had an absolute ball! Our little crew made THE CUTEST skimboarders out there for sure:)

Sissy's favorite part of our beach trip was playing with her cousin, Addy Kate:) Those girls played so nice together and were pretty much inseparable.
Sissy loved jumping the waves, taking rides on the boogie board, splashing in the ocean, and digging in the sand. She played so hard each morning, but by the time the afternoon rolled around, all she was good for was a NAP! Ha! She slept so hard each afternoon!

Last year when we went to the beach Parker was just a few weeks old.
This year he was my beach baby and he did so good!

He loved to play each day on the beach. He was content playing in the sand or putting his sweet toes in the ocean. Sometimes he would get a little fussy in the mornings, but Matt or Mimi would cuddle him a few minutes and let him sleep for a bit. He also LOVED chasing the seagulls and would just get so excited when he saw one close by!
(Look at his RED hair! LOVE!)

We usually got out to the beach around 9 or 9:30 each  morning. We would go back and forth from the ocean to the pool all. day. long:) Ah! It's the BEST! The kids really loved the pool! All of them are such great swimmers and loved playing, diving and splashing around!

Here are some pictures of our time on the beach...

No one ever gets tired of sitting under the umbrella or watching the waves...

Playing with Mimi, Puppa, Aunts, Uncles, or cousins...

Surfing, kayaking, or building sandcastles.

The smiles and giggles of all the little ones are priceless...

And our time together is such a sweet thing!

Our days were filled with lots of sunshine and surf while our nights were spent relaxing,  playing Phase 10,  crabbing, or eating ice cream:)
We usually like to stay close to the condo in the evenings, but we do enjoy going out for ice cream one of the nights. We have been going to the Yum Yum shop since we were little and now always make it a point to visit with our kids! Everyone looks forward to this night!

Surfside Beach is an extra special place for sure! We just love going and look forward to it each year!
Already looking forward to Surfside 2014!

Parker's First Haircut

Yesterday we took my Parker to get his first haircut at the barber shop!
The back was growing out just a little, so we needed to trim it up a bit.
He sat still on Matt's lap while Mr. Roddy cut it. Mr. Roddy even wrapped up the little bit of red hair for me to keep!

My little guy looks oh so sweet and grown up now;)

More Summer Days

Here are just a few of the highlights from our week so far...

Matt took Sissy out one afternoon for a special treat!
It was just him and her and she loved it! Any one on one time with Daddy is extra special for sure;)

One of my former students lives just up the street from us and she has called a few times this summer and asked to come help with the kids. She is so sweet with them and it allows me to get a few things done around the house. It is so helpful!

Yesterday she went with us to the park in our neighborhood and then she brought Popsicles for them to enjoy when we got back home;)

Last night we were invited over to celebrate Jake's buddy's 6th birthday.
It was supposed to be a pool party, but that got rained out:( We ended up having pizza back at the house and letting the kids just play!

This summer Jake and Sis took part in the summer reading program at the library. Jake had to complete 15 hours of reading and Sissy had to complete 10. Today we finished up and they each received a blue ribbon for doing such an awesome job!

Each time we visited the library, we left with a bag FULL of books. We loved reading though them all! The time reading with my kids was GREAT and I am proud that we finished!

Way to go Jake and Sissy!
