We enjoyed every minute of our long weekend! It was full of sweet, simple, fun!
Sunday night I took the kids to my parents to celebrate June birthdays (a little early) and Memorial Day. We grilled out hamburgers and hot dogs, sat around the fire pit and then let off some sparklers! It was such a fun night!
Matt and my brother Steve went to the race. They headed there after church time and spent the rest of the day out there. That sort of thing is not for me, but he likes to go sometimes!
Monday morning we took things slow. Matt worked in the yard a bit and I got a few things done around the house. Around lunch time we headed to some friends house for a pizza and pool party!
I didn't get many pictures, but wanted to post the few I got to remember our fun time!
The water was a little chilly! The little ones loved the baby pool, but Jake and his buddy Reed loved the BIG pool:)
Parker was such a trooper! He didn't get a good nap and then was outside much of the day, but he was all smiles for the majority of the day! So thankful for a happy baby!
It was a little hard to get going this morning! We were all so tired from all of our fun!
I have taken the kids to the pool a few times already now that it is open for the season!
It is still a bit chilly, but they don't seem to mind too much!
Jake has just picked right back up from last year!
He is jumping in, doing cannon balls:), and swimming like a pro!
Sissy is doing great too. She has stuck close to the steps with me because it is a little cold for our liking, but last night Daddy made her jump in and she LOVED it!
And my Parker is a water baby too! He just smiled and giggled the entire time! He kept kicking his feet and putting his forehead in the water! He didn't mind the cold and was actually the last one out of the water last night. He swam with Matt for a while and then played with me on the steps!
I am so glad we have a place to cool off now that the weather is heatin' up!
Today was my Jake's last official day of preschool for the year!
To celebrate such a fantastic year the school will put on a family picnic this coming Friday for us all to attend.
Jake will sing with his class and say one last goodbye to his sweet friends and teacher for the summer!
Jake's teacher told me that he was a very bright and caring boy. We really enjoyed Ms. Shana and all that she did for Jake. She worked hard with him and did an outstanding job teaching him this year!
He has had so much fun in her class and has learned so many new and exciting things!
He said his favorite thing about this year was Muffins with Mommy and meeting his buddy Mick. He loved playing "Pirates" on the playground, and also going to Fit and Play each week with Coach Amy. He learned so many awesome Bible stories in Kingdom Kids with Mrs. Ann and always loved all the fun art projects he did with Mrs. Shana! I loved them too! Many of them are displayed around the house;)
Sissy wanted her picture taken after we picked Jake up from preschool this afternoon too!
She is my LOVE! She has one more year before she gets to go to preschool, but she can not wait!
I am so glad Jake has another year in preschool before heading to kindergarten.
Last week I met my sister and her crew at the strawberry patch to pick some delicious berries!
We picked THE BEST day to go and had such a great time!
All the cousins together...
My Jake stuck close to the big boys and filled his bucket to the top with some of the best berries he could find!
He worked hard and did such a good job!
And there isn't anything much sweeter than this girl in the strawberry fields;)
I think my Brooklyn and her cousin Addy-Kate spent more time tasting than picking though:)! Ha!
It was my Parker's first time picking berries. Last year we went just a few weeks before he was born:)
Of course he didn't want to sit in his stroller, but wanted to be out with the rest of us! I think he ate the majority of the berries that we brought home. I would cut him up several at each meal and he would just gobble them up!
We went through our berries very fast! We mostly just ate them cut up or on our cereal, but I did find a yummy recipe for strawberry bread that I have made several times now! It is super easy and very yummy!
Every year when the weather gets warm our community puts on "Movies in the Park". We made it to a few last year and really enjoyed our time. It's just a fun (free) night out for families! This past Friday was the opening night.
We decided to load everyone up and enjoy the beautiful weather and go!
We laid out our blanket, got our popcorn and sodas...
And waited for it to get dark...
It was definitely a LATE night. Parker did great, but it was a bit too late for him to be out.
We had fun hanging out as a family! Love spending time with my little crew;)
I always LOVE celebrating their first birthday, but part of my heart is always a little sad.
They change so fast that first year and I just want to hold onto and remember every detail!
Today I took Parker to the doctor for his 1 year check up!
He is doing great!
He weighed 24lbs and 10oz. and was 30in long.
(Jake was 21.6 and 29in and Brooklyn was 23.12 and 30in).
He got his little finger pricked and 3 shots. He didn't cry at all during the finger prick or first shot, but the second and third shots were so sad:(.
After some juice and love from me, he was much better!
Parker, you are such a sweet, fun baby! You know how to wave bye bye and say "all done". You point to everything and say "dat"! You LOVE to be outside. Anytime someone opens a door you crawl as fast as you can and try to get out and then you start crying if you don't make it out before the door shuts back!
(LOVE this pic of you)
You aren't walking yet, but have stood by yourself several times. You can crawl super fast and are very good at cruising around the furniture. You are good at holding my fingers and strolling along too.
Your new trick is climbing UP the slide that goes to Jake's bed. I have to watch you super close. Little stinker;)
You HATE getting in your car seat and arch your back so I can't buckle you in. Once we get going though, you are fine;)
You wear 18-24 month clothes and a size 4 shoe. You wear a size 4 diaper.
You sleep from 8:30pm or so until 7 or 7:30am.
You still take a bottle about 3x a day mainly when you wake up, before nap, and before bed.
You eat great. Your favorites these days are strawberries, veggie straws, goldfish, pizza, and chicken nuggets;). You love apple juice, but I am trying to give you lots of water too:)
You are a mamma's boy. You look for me any time someone else is holding you and then reach for me.
I love to rock you before bed as I give you your last bottle and then we just snuggle for a little bit. Oh, how I love it!
You are usually ALL smiles! Everyone always comments on what a happy baby you are.
You still have red hair, which I LOVE! I hope it stays! Your eyes are pretty blue too!
Here are your monthly pics from this past year!
What a precious little boy God gave me!
I am blessed to be your mommy and I just LOVE you dearly!
