Saturday afternoon I put Parker on his big ol' belly for a little while so he could practice being on his tummy. Just a second after I put him there he rolled right over to his back! I thought I had maybe bumped him, so I flipped him back over and he did it again! I called Matt and the kids in and Parker showed off his new trick for them too! He did it a few times in a row! We all clapped and cheered like crazy! Ha!
I knew he was getting close. It takes a lot to get a big belly over, but he did it!
It has been beautiful here over the past few days and getting just a little cooler outside!
Yesterday morning Jake had a Playground Clean-Up Day at his preschool.
I thought it would be a fun thing for us to do together, plus I thought it would be really good for him to go and get familiar with where he will be going to preschool! We hadn't been there since the day we took a tour back in February!
We stayed busy planting flowers, cleaning out the sandbox, picking up sticks, and sorting toys!
We finished up at the school and then ran a few errands together...just my big boy and me!
After our morning out, we came back to the house just in time for lunch.
We picked up Sissy and Parker and then met some friends at Sweet Fr0gs!
It just so happened to be our second trip there this week! Ha!
Here is Parker and his buddy Wyatt!
Looks like they enjoy our frequent trips for ice cream too!
As soon as Matt got home from work later on that evening, we headed out to the HG football game to cheer the Lions on in their first game of the season!
The weather was PERFECT and my kiddos ran around and played the entire evening!
One of the cutest cheerleaders out there;)!
(She busted her top lip at sweet frogs earlier in the day. Poor girl.)
And my sweet P was passed around and held lots last night!
He enjoyed being outside and was super good!
Just another fun Friday with the ones I love the most:)!
This week we have been up to a little of this and a little of that.
I had my first teacher meeting at school this week. We don't start for a few more weeks, but things are kicking back up! I worked on some school stuff this afternoon while my kids napped:). I am actually excited for all the fun things we have coming up this fall!
I took the kids to the library yesterday for the first time in a long time!
We went for story time, but it was cancelled and won't start back up until after Labor day.
Jake and Sissy just played on the computers for a while, read books and did puzzles.
Today Jake had a playdate with his little neighbor buddy.
They played so well together. Jake went over to his house a few weeks ago, so we decided to have him over to our house this time.
My little Parker has been so sweet this week!
Lots of smiles and coos!
I love him in this outfit. It makes his little red hair look so bright:)
Our house is getting ready for some football!!!
Both highschool football games and Steelers games are marked on the calendar!
My MIL bought Sissy this cute shirt. It says "Steelers cheerleader in training".
We are wrapping up our last minute summer fun and are ready to welcome fall!
Friday night we stayed close to home. We made a yummy chicken dinner and then took the kids for an evening swim at the pool. Saturday night we went out for Mexican, got some ice cream, and then headed out to our church to watch a softball game. It was such a beautiful night to be outside. The kids ran all around and I got to chat with a sweet friend of mine:)
We have been super busy lately celebrating some special August birthdays!
Last weekend Matt's parents took us to dinner for his birthday and today we had his family over to celebrate his mom's birthday! We also had two birthday parties to go to yesterday morning! Whew! We have eaten quite a bit of birthday cake lately!
Today was Parker's first time going to the church nursery:(.
I knew that it was time for him to go and that he would be fine. I just hate leaving him!
We have just been going to service so it was only for an hour! We both survived. Ha!
I love my Parker...
I just LOVE weekends! It is always fun to have
Matt around and enjoy a little more down time together!
Summer weekends are winding down though. We will definitely enjoy the few that are left!
Yesterday I took Jake to the doctor for his preschool check-up!
It was my last step in getting him all set for school which starts in just a few weeks!
I am SO excited for him, but it actually made me a little sad! He is just getting so BIG on me!
I was just thankful it was for preschool and not kindergarten!
I think I will be a MESS by the time that comes!
I think he was excited about going to the doctor. He hasn't been in a LONG time and he knew this check-up was for his preschool, which he is excited about. He was a little shy when he got there, just cause I don't think he really knew what to expect.
My Jake is a tiny little thing.
He weighed 32 lbs. (20%) and was 39" tall (29%).
The doctor asked us all sorts of questions about his eating and sleeping. She asked him what kinds of foods he likes to eat and the very first thing he said was green beans:)!
He had to draw a picture of a circle, a X, and of me:) He did a GREAT job!
He got his eyes checked...
His hearing checked...
And he had to sit very still while he got his blood pressure checked...
I was REALLY hoping for no shots, but he was due for one.
He was SUPER BRAVE! He sat on my lap and we held each other really tight:)
When we got back in the car to go home he said, "Mommy, I cried a little but, it really didn't hurt"!
I am so glad to know that my BIG boy is strong and healthy!
I can't believe you are 3 months already! You are a sweet baby and are great at just going with the flow. Maybe that's what you have to do when your number 3!
You are definitely less fussy than you have been in the past but you still like to be held.
You can smile soooo easily these days and are starting to coo and make noises!
Jake LOVES to make you smile! He is pretty good at it too!
I just love when I can get you to giggle! It is the BEST sound ever!
You drink 6-7 ounces each feeding which is usually still every 2 1/2-3 hours.
You lets us know when you want to eat! Ha! As you can see, you don't miss a meal!
You nap kinda when you want to. We aren't on a real schedule yet. Some days are great nap days and then others are just small cat nap days (like today).
And for a super 3 month gift to me, you slept all the way through the night last night. I fed you your bottle at 8:00 with another ounce or two to top you off at 9:15 and the next thing I knew it was 6:15 in the morning! Wow! Maybe this will be a trend:)
Your normal night though is waking up once. On a good night you can make it from about 10:00pm-4:00am. You eat and then go back to sleep until 6:30 or 7:00.
You are wearing mostly 6-9 month clothes (at least) and a size 3 diaper.
Your eyes are still pretty blue and you hair is still red:)
This past week my entire family headed down to Surfside Beach, SC for a week of fun!
This was our twenty-third year going down to the same beach all together. Each year our family seems to grow a little bit bigger, but we always have a blast and make tons of new memories!
We are so blessed to be able to spend an entire week all together at the place we all LOVE the most!
It is the place that holds so many special memories for me, and now my kids get to experience the same special things!
Jake enjoyed so many things about our trip this year. I would have to say that the pool was probably his favorite though. He became such a great swimmer over the course of the week. He was jumping and diving in the water and was able to swim across the entire pool all by himself. He wanted to do his "Olympic swimming" without his floaties!
Sissy had a great time too! Her favorite part was definitely the sand! She would dig in the sand with her new shovel all day long! She was kept busy each day making castles, playing with her cousins, and chasing and jumping the waves!
One of the funniest things she did was walk up and down the beach bent over with her hands behind her back. It was so cute!
Both Matt and I said we felt like she started talking so much more over the week too.
She also loved watching the Olympics and now cheers "USA" anytime they are on! Ha!
My sweet Parker seemed to enjoy his first time at the beach too!
He was usually kept in the shade underneath the tent or was found sleeping soundly on someone.
He got his little toes wet in the ocean a few times and took a few swims with us in the pool.
We don't usually go many places while we are down there. Everyone just likes to stay close to the condos and just relax. We do try to make it to the pier one evening though to see if anyone is catching any sharks:)
We also had a fun time celebrating Matt's 31st birthday!
We ordered pizza and all ate together on the breezeway.
We created so many new memories this year. All of them were GREAT except for the fierce stomach bug that took out nine (so far) of us! One by one we went down. Ugh! It was terrible!
But here are a few more pics of the happy times we had...
