Spring Break Has Started!

I have been counting down until Spring Break for several weeks now and IT IS FINALLY HERE! I know I only work two mornings a week, but I am tired! I am just ready to not have to plan or worry about school! And I know that after Spring Break, we only have three weeks left!
Woot! Woot!
We have lots of fun stuff coming up this week and I am looking forward to spending more time with my kids, getting ready for Parker, and just resting too!
This morning I got up early and did a light cleaning around the house. When the kids got up we got ready and headed to the park!
They were so good and enjoyed being outside! I should have packed us a lunch to enjoy there too cause we were having so much fun:)
I don't get many pictures of my kids together. It is so hard to get them both looking and smiling, but this didn't turn out to bad!
Let the Spring Break fun begin!

Disciple Now Weekend

This past weekend Matt and I had the opportunity to be a host home for Disciple Now weekend. Disciple Now is a weekend dedicated to middle school and high school students. It is put on by our church. Matt and I both participated in DNow growing up, were students leaders when we were in college, and now this year, became a host home.
We hosted a group of 9th grade girls and their college leader. Matt requested this age because several of his basketball girls would be in this group. He loves those girls and has a huge heart to see them grow in their walk with the Lord. I participated as much as I could, but it was a bit hard since Jake and Brooklyn are so little. We mainly got the snacks and food ready for when the crew came back after their sessions. I have to say that I was worn out from the weekend, but Matt was EXHAUSTED. He was a trooper for sure. Ha! He carted those girls back and forth to so many places and then took them all to the mall Saturday night because that's how they wanted to spend their free time! Whew:)!
I have to say it was such a blessing to us to be able to open our home up this weekend. Especially to this group of girls. The Lord has certainly called Matt to his coaching position and to be able to minister to those girls was awesome.
Coaching is soooooo much more than a job to him. It is his heart, love, and passion. I am trying to be a part of this ministry with him in anyway I can right now. It is a bit hard with little ones (and a baby due very soon) to be involved, but our prayer is that our own kids would see us serving and loving on people. Whether it be in our neighborhood, community, or church, we want to teach them to be a DOER.
Yesterday our Sunday school lesson was all about teaching your kids the Word of God and the importance of it. There are many things that Matt and I do to try to instill it in them, but my heart and mind were racing with so many more ideas!
Do they see Matt and I reading our Bibles? Do they know that we pray for them everyday? Do they see us serving? Do they know the importance of church?
What a blessing my kids are to me.
Oh, how I long for them to love Jesus with all their hearts!

Baby Appointments And A Little Ritas

Monday I was back at the doctor for Baby Parker's appointment.
I am getting so close and everything is still looking good. I heard his little heartbeat and Dr. D measured me to see how I was growing!
I had mentioned to him last time that I was having a lot of contractions. Some days I have them all day and then other days I don't have any. He said they are nothing to worry about unless they get worse or more consistent. Well, this time when I went again I just mentioned it to him again. He decided that he should check me just to make sure there were no signs of pre term labor. He thought I was fine, but wanted to do a special ultrasound just to make sure. After waiting, and waiting, and waiting, everything looks just fine.
The weather continues to be just beautiful here!
We have spent so much of our time outside! Brooklyn LOVES it! She LOVES playing on our swing set and NEVER wants to come in!
Since yesterday was the first official day of spring though, Ritas was giving away FREE ice cream. Tuesdays are my busy day with school and tutoring so we ended up going BEFORE dinner:) That's OK every once in a while:)
Someone was excited about that...
Jake tried some bubble gum ice cream, but only took a few bites.
Ice cream is just not his thing.
This little girl had no trouble eating hers though:)
I can't think of a better way to bring in spring then FREE ice cream with my loves!

Celebrating 30!

This weekend I was able to celebrate my 30th birthday!
We got together with my family Saturday night for dinner and enjoyed being all together!
My sisters birthday was back in February, but because there are so many of us, we usually have to combine celebrations...
Sunday was my real birthday.
My day was celebrated in a simple but very sweet way:)
(I LOVE this picture of me and my kids. That was a sweet gift all by itself! Ha!)
We went to church in the morning and then I was treated to a spaghetti dinner cooked (and all cleaned up) by Matt. I also received a very special homemade card that I LOVE...
We all took a nap after lunch and enjoyed playing outside for a while too.
We then loaded up and went to Sweet Fr0gs for some frozen yogurt.
I had never been before and I LOVED it!
It was soooo good. Brooklyn and I shared my strawberry kiwi yogurt with sprinkles, chocolate chips and fresh strawberries on top:)
Yum! Yum! I LOVE my Sissy:)
Jake is not an ice cream fan, but did want a cup of gummy worms:)
The night was perfect for eating outside...
My day was so special being spent with the people I love the most!
I am very blessed and couldn't have asked for a more perfect day!

Spring Has Sprung!

These last several days have been GORGEOUS around here. Sunny and warm with highs in the upper 70's and low 80's. I think we have spent more time outside than inside! Our cul-de-sac has been swarming with kids! We are loving it!
This morning I had to run Brooklyn to the doctor for a re-check on her ear. She was doing A LOT better and then last weekend her yucky cough and wheeze started again. We stayed home from church last week and just let her rest and thankfully today everything checked out clear!
As soon as we were done we headed to the park to play!
It seems like we have been on the go a lot this week. Matt has been working a lot (which is a HUGE praise!) plus we have been busy trying to get things ready for Parker. We moved Jake's room into what was Matt's old office, we hung up a few things that have been needing to get hung and have cleaned and organized some of the kids clothes. We straightened up and organized our playroom too. We are hosting a group of girls next weekend for a youth event at our church and are trying to spruce up a few things around the house for them as well! Whew. No wonder I have been a bit tired this week!
On top of all that I have been busy with school. We only have 5 more weeks of school left! I can't believe it! School weeks go by super fast when you only teach two mornings a week! Ha! I also picked up a small tutoring job. My neighbor asked me last week if I was interested in tutoring her little boy. We met this week for the first time. He came over after school while my kids were napping. I am so thankful that I can help him, plus make a little extra money too!
I go to the doctor on Monday for my next baby Parker appointment.
I am 32 weeks now. He still moves around quite a bit these days! Jake has felt him a time or two which is so fun to me! I can tell I am getting bigger and bigger! I have felt quite large these last few weeks. Ha! It is getting harder to bend over, chase after Jake and Brooklyn and clean my house! I try not to complain at all, but sometimes I think..."if I have to bend over one more time..." Ha! May 10th is not too far off! Yay! Can't wait to meet my little boy!

Brooklyn Is 15 Months!

Today my Brooklyn Hope turns 15 months old!
She is still quite a mommy's girl! She gives me a fit whenever I leave her in the nursery on Sundays and whenever I leave her to go teach school during the week! I hate it, but know that she is absolutely fine:)
She is wearing her 18 month size fall clothes still, but has several 24 months or 2t hand me downs that she fits great in! That's what I am buying her for summertime. She is wearing a size 4 shoe and 4 diaper.
She knows some of her animal sounds. She does a duck and a dog really well. She is starting to say a few things like bus, ball, more (and she signs this), dadda, mamma, Papa, and Parker!
She LOVES to play outside and usually throws a FIT when we can't go out or we have to come in!
She still eats great and only wants to feed herself. She usually does a good job with this. She loves to eat Cheeri0s or h0ney bunches of 0ats for breakfast. She will usually do pb&j for lunch and eats whatever we are having for dinner. She has lots of favorite foods. Donuts, chips, peaches, goldfish, and fruit snacks are just a few! She is not a huge veggie fan but will eat just about every kind of bean.
She naps in the afternoons from about 2-4:30 or so. She sleeps with her "lovies" and her baby doll.
She loves to copy everything Jake does. Good and bad things! Ugh!
She has her top four teeth and her bottom four teeth as well as two molars on top and two on the bottom. She hasn't had a problem teething at all!
We have had a very healthy winter. I was very worried about this. I thought that it might be hard, but only runny noses and one ear infection.
I love all her sweet kisses and cuddles!
They are the BEST!
I can't believe she will be a big sis soon!
I will have my hands full, but I am so excited!

Gone With The Wind

Saturday morning I woke up to messages all over faceb00k about the tornado that passed near our community early that morning. I actually didn't even know that we were supposed to receive any bad storms, but apparently we were. No one knew it was tornado weather. Not even the weather people or channels!
Thankfully it missed us, but my heart broke at what I saw around me!
Matt went out a little bit Saturday morning to see what the damage was and he came home in tears. Roofs were torn off houses, cars were flipped over, and there were big trees completely snapped in half! He said he couldn't just sit at home, but had to do something.
Teams from our church and other organizations have been out working to get things cleaned up. Matt said that the Red Cr0ss was out yesterday driving around while he was working, offering snacks, drinks, and help to those who needed it and to the workers.
Matt took me out yesterday to see some of the damage. While it still looks pretty bad, progress is being made. Many houses have big, blue tarps on them, trees are still down, and houses have signs on them that read "UNSAFE".
We are thankful to be safe and feeling blessed that it missed us, but praying for those around us that lost so much.

30 Weeks!

Today I went to the doctor for my 30 week check up!
I can't believe that I only have about 10 weeks left!
These last few weeks will fly by for sure!
I am feeling great and soooo looking forward to seeing our new little man!
He moves quite a bit these days, but I tend to feel him most at night time when I am laying in bed. I am also feeling more body parts, what might be like a knee or a foot or elbow. Ha!
He likes to get up under my right rib sometimes. I remember Brooklyn did that too. I try to push him back down:)!
I seem to get full really fast whenever I eat. I guess he is taking up a lot of room these days!
His heartbeat sounded great today. I had both kids with me, so my appointment was quick.
Dr. Dehoff let Jake turn on and off the heartbeat microphone thing, which he thought was pretty neat. Brooklyn cried when Nurse Sandy called us back and took my blood pressure and then started up again when Dr. Dehoff came in. She thinks that they are coming in to check her.
Poor girl.
I am so ready to have a tiny baby around the house again!
I know those first few weeks/months are tough, but I can't wait to love on another little boy!
Sometimes I look at Brooklyn and think she is so big and then other times, I just think about how little she is and how she and her brother will be so close!
If I ask her where Parker is she will lift up my shirt and blow all these wet kisses on my belly! Ha!
I think she will want to be a big helper to me. She loves her baby dolls now and is so sweet to them. She pretends to feed them, change them, and takes them for walks in their stroller.
She might be a little jealous though too. She does NOT like it when I hold or cuddle Jake. She starts to whine and push him away.
At least school will be out for me and I can just be at home with my three little loves.
We can keep a slow schedule and just enjoy being together!
