The Start of the Season!

Last weekend we got busy getting our house ready for Christmas!
The kids were SO excited to set up the tree! It looks just perfect for our family!
My favorite Christmas decorations are my stockings. I am really bummed though because I didn't order one for Parker this year. They are a little expensive, so I was waiting until they went on sale, but then they sold out.
It is also always fun to pull out the ornament that Matt proposed to me with!
It is so special to us! Love it (and him)!
We decided to take the kids to the toy store last weekend just for a fun trip out!
Of course they got plenty of ideas for their wish lists;)

Jake is asking Santa for a castle, ninja turtles, and anything Spiderman!

Sissy wants a baby doll and a Barbie!
Parker was pretty much just along for the ride this time, although
I am sure Santa is working on some special gifts for him this year too!
This weekend starts a very busy Christmas season for us!
Love this time of year!

Brooklyn's Bubblegum

My sweet Brooklyn was thrilled to get a quarter from her Papa the other day to buy a piece of bubblegum.
Love these pics of her! Some of my favorites!

Thankful Hearts...Thanksgiving 2012

Our Thanksgiving this year was BUSY!
We were blessed this year to be able to celebrate with both sides of our family.
Matt's brothers came up from Florida with their families which was so much fun! They both stayed for several days which was really nice. We don't get to see them all that often, so we spent lots of time together.
Matt's mom hosted us all this year. It was a houseful for sure;).
We got up nice and early Thanksgiving morning and headed over so we could make the most out of our time together.
Sissy loved playing with all her cousins! On this side of our family there are nine (soon to be ten) cousins all under the age of six! Whew!

Parker was such a good boy!
He didn't nap but for just a few minutes. I guess he didn't want to miss out on anything!

It was such a pretty day outside, so we brought our bounce house over for the kids to use.

Between the bounce house and all the leaves, the kids had fun!
Around 4:00 we wrapped up our time there and headed over to my sister's house to celebrate with my family. It is ALWAYS a houseful when we get together, but we are so blessed!
More cousin fun...

Parker was still taking it all in on his first Thanksgiving!
My little turkey...

My sisters and I with the girls...
(We missed KK this year who was on a cruise in the Bahamas!)

And I was SO THANKFUL that my brother Steven was able to come home for Thanksgiving!
We miss him so much when he is gone! (We also missed my brother Tim who was out of town with a buddy of his.)
My mom and sister...
Love them and am THANKFUL for them!

By the end of the day we were EXHAUSTED, but our hearts were full of THANKSGIVING.
We have been BLESSED BEYOND!

Parker's First Thanksgiving

I will share more about our BUSY Thanksgiving holiday tomorrow, but I wanted to remember P's first Thanksgiving with a sweet pic;). I think his favorite item on the menu this year was the cool whip for the pumpkin pies;)

Jake's Harvest Program

This morning Jake's preschool was putting on their annual Harvest Program. All the parents and grandparents were invited to come and enjoy the program and then stay for a Thanksgiving banquet lunch!
I wasn't sure how my Jake would do. He does NOT like to be the center of attention,
but he did super;). They sang some sweet Thanksgiving songs, said some Bible verses, and were dressed just as CUTE as could be!
He was dressed like an Indian and his name was "Dancing Squirrel". Ha!
I was so proud of my little Indian;). I LOVE seeing what he is learning in school!

My Mom and Grandma were able to join us along with my MIL.
Each family was asked to bring something to share for lunch.
One of Jake's favorite meals is Mac and Cheese, so that's what I brought:)

After lunch we went back to his classroom to pick up his things. He showed us around a little bit!
Matt and I are so THANKFUL that we are able to send him to preschool this year!
He is LOVING it!

Sissy LOVED watching her big brother and being at his school!
Every afternoon when we pick him up she gets super excited to see him!
So THANKFUL for a fun morning!

Thankful for Friends

I have been blessed with some of the best girlfriends ever!
Most of my girlfriends I met during my college days. Many years have gone by since then (even though we all FEEL young enough to still be there;) and most of us are married with families now, but each one holds a very special place in my heart.
I got to spend some time with my BEST friend this past week. We don't usually get to see each other all that much because we are both busy wives and moms.
The Lord brought her into my life twelve years ago and we still remain very special friends!
We have started a fun tradition each year now to attend a women's holiday event at our church. It is called "Home For The Holidays" and is a special night for us to spend time together. It is our Christmas gift to each other!
We get to enjoy a yummy meal and hear from a special guest speaker.
Something else that makes our friendship so special is that we have little girls the same age!
We had a chance to meet earlier in the week at Chick-fil-@ to let the girls play.
We are hoping that one day they will become special friends too!
Sweet Brooklyn and Sophie...

So THANKFUL for the friends in my life!

My Heart

You will never have this day with your children again.
Tomorrow, they'll be a little older than they were today.

This day is a gift.
Breathe and notice.

Smell and touch them; study their faces and little feet and pay attention.
Relish the charms of the present.

Enjoy today, mama.
It will be over before you know it.

Six Month Check-Up

Today I took Parker for his 6 month check up.
My sweet boy is looking good and growing big and strong!
Dr. B checked Parker all out. She listened to his heart and lungs, looked in his eyes and ears, checked out his two little bottom teeth and asked me all sorts of questions!
He weighed 23lbs 8oz (99%), he was 28" long (93%), and his head circumference was 17 3/4 (85%).
Poor P got 3 shots today. Jake and I sang "Jesus Loves Me" to him and cuddle him tight:)
After our visit, we decided to head to the park!
It is SUCH a beautiful day that we needed to get out and enjoy it!
We went to one of our favorite parks and we were the ONLY ones there!
As my kids were running around and playing, I couldn't help but think how blessed I am to have three strong and healthy kids!

Thank you God for my SWEET THREE:)

Half Way There!

Well, we made it! We are officially to the half way point! My sweet Parker was 6 months old yesterday! He is just so sweet and we ALL love him to pieces:)!
He is becoming such a big boy in so many ways!
You go for your 6 month check up tomorrow so I will get your official stats then, but here are some fun things that I want to always remember!
You are growing big and strong! You are a solid boy for sure!
You mostly wear size 12-18 month clothes and a size 2 shoe. You actually don't wear shoes all that often. You wear a size 4 diaper.
You still eat about 6 ounces each feeding during the day which is usually every couple of hours. At night I make a 7 ounce bottle and most nights you drink it dry!
Sleep is NOT your strong suit. Ugh! I am tired these days!
We usually feed you around 8:30 and then put you to bed. Most nights you make it till 3:30 or 4:00. I feed you and then you go back to sleep until 7 or 7:30. You might doze off around 11:00ish for a short nap, but then you are ready for a good afternoon nap around 1:45-2:00. You sleep till 4:30ish.
Parker, you can now sit up great all on your own. Sometimes I put a few pillows behind you just to be safe, but you normally will sit and play and be so content!
You have one tooth that is coming on up (the bottom right) and one I can see just under the gum that is about to pop through (the bottom left). I gave you rice cereal for the first time last week. You DID NOT like it at first, but you are slowly taking to it. I have also given you some apples and bananas:) You seem to like those so far:) Now we have to try a few veggies:)
You LOVE to be outside. You love to go on walks and swing in your swing. Sometimes I bring your exersaucer out and you just sit in it!
You just LOVE your brother and sister! They can make you laugh so hard! Ha! I LOVE your giggle! It is the best sound ever!
You love to cuddle with me, but you totally LIGHT up when your daddy comes home after being gone all day at work! You will just "talk" and "talk" until he looks at you!
Here are all your month pictures so far...

We all adore you Parker James!
You are loved so much by so many people!
Happy 6 Months to YOU!

Out With The Germs

Our family was struck by some mean stomach bug this past weekend. Each one of us got it (except for Parker). We each went down one by one.
We were all just fine one minute and the next thing we knew we were in the bed:(.
Finally today everyone is feeling better! I spent all morning cleaning, cleaning, cleaning!
The sheets are clean, the laundry is done, and EVERYTHING has been sprayed with Lyso1:)
I even opened the windows to let the germs out and the fresh air in!
I made the kids go play outside this morning for a bit to run and play and enjoy the clean, cool air!

I am so THANKFUL we are finally on the mend!

Starting Cereal

Parker will be six months on Wednesday so that means it is time for us to start some cereal!
We gave him some for the first time Friday night and as you can tell from the pics below
he was NOT a fan!
He actually kept locking his lips shut and turning his head! He wanted NOTHING to do with it!
I was actually a bit surprised! Oh well!
He says forget the rice cereal...bring on the steak;)

Our "Spooktacular" Night

Last night Matt and I bundled up the kids and headed out into the neighborhood for a fun night of Trick or Treating!
We went from house to house picking out our favorite treats! Sissy was on the hunt for every lolly she could find and Jake searched for Nerds:) Mommy looked for the chocolate! Yum!

Sissy did great keeping up and quickly caught on to what was happening! She said "trick or treat" at each house we came to and then would say "more treats" as we would make our way to the next house.

As her bag filled up, we would try to empty it into the larger bag we were carrying, but OH NO! No one was touching her treats! I mean look at that tongue...
She was taking it seriously;)!
I wondered if it was going to be to chilly for me to take Parker out, but it ended up being OK.
We just bundled up and within a few minutes, he was snuggled up and sound asleep. Ha!
We walked up and down a few streets in our neighborhood until little legs got tired and then made our way back.
One of the best parts of the night was watching the kids faces as Matt dumped out all their goodies!

They dug through the pile that sat before them and each picked out a few pieces to enjoy before Charlie Br0wn came on:)!
A "sweet" night with my loves!
