Are You Ready For Some Football?

For the past several years Matt has participated in a flag football tournament at Panther's Stadium. A group of his buddies all get together and practice for several weeks leading up to the tournament. It is always a blast to get to go down town and cheer them on!

Their very first game was played inside the Stadium which is always cool!

They played great together!
They went 2-1 on Saturday which allowed them to advance to the games on Sunday.

It was a beautiful day to be outside! Of course Jake LOVED it! He was worn out by bedtime:)!

Our nephew Riley came with us to cheer for Uncle Matt.
These two boys had so much fun together!

We enjoyed watching the guys play. They ended up losing Sunday morning in the first round, but we had a great weekend cheering and look forward to next year!

Beautiful Weather and Time Together

All this pretty weather we have been having only means one thing...lots of time outside!
We have been blowing bubbles, eating picnics, doing chalk, and riding bikes.

Jake plays so hard when he is outside...he is all boy that's for sure:)!

Those red cheeks gave Matt and I a great idea this past weekend...
We hit up the creamery for some refreshing ice cream to cool us down.

Look at that Carolina blue sky!!
The little town that we went to is so pretty and has lots of little shops.
One little children's boutique shop that we saw had a few items for sale out on the sidewalk. I saw these cute little girl rain boots. I couldn't believe my eyes when the tag said $66.00!
What? For rain boots? I don't think so. We just browsed and kept walking:)!
Matt has been busy with work lately, so it was nice to hang out together and do something fun as a family!
Jake of course loved sharing Daddy's milkshake:)

Good til the last drop!

What a fun night out on the town!

One Busy Week...

This past week was very busy! I pretty much had something to do every night of the week. Most nights were spent picking out things for our new house or spending time with friends! Wednesday night I met up with a bunch of my friends for a girls night bachlorette party.

Angela (the bride), me, and Blair
Blair has been overseas serving the Lord for the past year and a half or so. It was so much fun to have her back to join in on the celebration. We were all such good friends in college. I was so lucky to have them!
Miss her a ton!

Thursday was my 28th birthday! Wow. I just can't believe it! Matt and Jake surprised me at school with flowers and balloons.

They were planning on staying for lunch so when we walked down to the cafeteria, I saw more surprise guests...

We had a special time together eating pizza and cake!
Jake just wanted to run and play with all the kids:)
Friday morning Matt and I had an appointment to go to, so we dropped Jake off at school and went to chick-fil-a for a quick breakfast together to celebrate again.
And then of course Friday night was the big wedding...
Angela looked beautiful!
My best friend Marcy and I were so happy to be there for her on her big day.
Enjoying a bite to eat...

The wedding was beautiful and we enjoyed our night out.
Congrats to Matt and Angela!

Go Green!

Today I had some "green" fun with my class at school.
We love to have a celebration any time we can!
I made green cupcakes and we had green punch to go with it. We also enjoyed St. Patricks Day cookies and candy! We made shamrocks to decorate the classroom and in math we graphed all sorts of green things we like!
Jake and I also put together some green items for his teachers...

I thought they turned out pretty cute!
Happy St. Patty's Day!

Jake's Latest Accessory

Jake LOVES hats. He wants to wear one just about all the time. He wants it right when he gets up in the morning. He even wore one to school the other day. He always wants it when we get ready for bed too. This poor little guy has no chance for hair if he keeps this habit up!!

Bring On Spring!!!

This week has been so pretty outside! Everyday I have rushed home from school so that Jake and I can go to the park. He is becoming such a big boy! He loves watching all the other kids play and he tries to do what they do.
He does the slide all by himself and wants to do it over and over:)
When I got home today Matt had bought this for him...
Jake actually did pretty well with it!
We had fun playing, running, and just being together!
We definitely have spring fever!

Scrubbing, Showers, and Stuff...

We actually had a pretty busy weekend. I can't believe that it's over!
Why do they always have to fly by so fast?
Saturday morning I gave my house a good 'ol scrub down. I mean the works...the bathrooms, the floors, the kitchen, a good dusting, and a good vacuuming.
I also had loads and loads of this to do...
Everything is now washed, dried, and folded. Whew!
I had two showers to attend this weekend as well. Saturday night we got together to celebrate my friend Angela's upcoming wedding. She is getting married March 19th. So many of my college friends were there. Many of us have gone our separate ways so it was so fun to see and catch up with everyone again!
(my camera decided not to work, so I have no pics to share)
Then today I was able to get together with some other friends to celebrate the upcoming arrival of my friend Suzy's baby girl. Suzy and I went to college together and now go to the same church. Sweet baby Macy is due to arrive in just a few short weeks!
We can't wait to welcome her!
It was such a fun shower to go to! We had a great time together and I was so glad to be apart!
I have one more thing to share...Matt and I made a trip to the Christian bookstore last week and I picked up a few things that I am excited about. I don't have much time to read but I really wanted to read this book...
It is about Jim Elliot, a missionary who was killed while sharing the Gospel with the Auca Indians in the jungles of Ecuador. I also finished my Bible study on Ruth a few weeks back and have been anxious to start a new one. I picked out this study...
I have never heard of it, but the study I went to pick up was out of stock so I had to choose something else. I am starting it tomorrow and can't wait! I will let you know how it is!

It is Friday night and we are home just relaxing after a very busy week. I am so glad the weekend is here. I think Jake is too...

A Little Of What We've Been Up To...

I am a little behind posting about our weekend. We did a few fun things that I wanted to share about. Friday night Matt headed up to Winston Salem to watch the varsity girls play in the state tournament so Jake and I were on our own. We had the best afternoon just playing and loving on each other...
My Grandma bought Jake this Sit and Spin. At first he wanted nothing to do with it, but after a few days, he couldn't get enough. He has finally figured out how to work it and he loves it! Most of the time he sits on it, but he does know that it is fun to stand and do tricks on it as well. It about gives me a heart attack. After we played together we headed to Wal-Mart to pick up some finger paints. Now I know he is only one, but my sister did it with her little girl Sophie and she looked like she was having fun. I thought I would give it a try.
Jake created his masterpiece and I love it, however the paint was everywhere...even in his hair.
So this activity led to this...
A nice warm bath. Clean, happy, and smelling so good.
Saturday night my sister spent the night with us and we all headed back to Winston to watch the girls play in the championship game.
Our girls lost but they played hard. It was a great game and we all had fun.
Matt and Jake sporting their blue and gold. GO LIONS!
In other big news, Matt and I bought a house yesterday. We put our town home on the market about a month ago. We decided that we would try to rent it or sell it. Almost immediately someone came by and wanted to rent it. We are so excited!
With Matt being in real estate he is always looking for a gem. We had been keeping our eye on a house that was being foreclosed on. It went to the bank yesterday and we got it! We are waiting on all the paper work to be official (March 11). It is on a culdesac in a neighborhood with lots of young families. We now have lots of room for our family to grow too! We are hoping that everything works out to move over spring break. (So much for a week off!)
This is a picture that I took yesterday. I am already dreaming of decorating it! Buying a house was something we had been praying about for a while and we are so thankful that God provided this for us. It is perfect for us and we can't wait to move it!
Yesterday and today we have had teacher work days at school. I can't believe that fourth quarter is here! I have been busy getting report cards ready and my classroom organized for these next few weeks. As I am blogging snow is falling from the sky...maybe a snow day is in store for tomorrow!!
