Funny Face Friday

Yesterday morning Jake and I were having some fun just playing together and I caught this funny face he made! It just made me laugh!

And he really thinks it's funny when he gets away with this...

He tries to go up as high as he can as fast as he can before I catch him.
When he hears me coming he goes faster!
That little stinker!
I can't help but love him!
XOXOXO!
HAPPY FRIDAY !

Meals On Wheels!

Last week two girls in our Sunday school class had their babies on the same day! Baby Chandler and Baby Presley were both born last Wednesday. Our Sunday school class provides meals for families that just had babies to help out a little. Matt and I signed up to take dinner to them last night. Matt decided to make some of his homemade BBQ (which made my house smell sooo yummy all day yesterday), a few side dishes and some chocolate peanut butter cookies! I think I have posted the recipe for these heavenly cookies before, but just in case you STILL haven't tried them, I will post it again. They are so quick and easy to make and a perfect dessert if you are in a hurry...but beware, they are quick to make and quick to eat!

What You Need:
1 pkg. (2-layer size) devil's food cake mix
4 oz. (1/2 of 8-oz. pkg.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
1/2 cup peanut butter
2 eggs

Make It:
PREHEAT oven to 375ºF. Place ingredients in large bowl. Beat with electric mixer on low speed 1 min., then beat on medium speed 1 min. or until mixture pulls away from side of bowl and forms soft dough.
SHAPE into 44 (1-inch) balls. Place, 2 inches apart, on baking sheets. Flatten each ball, in criss-cross pattern, with tines of fork dipped in sugar.
BAKE 7 to 8 min. or just until edges of cookies are set. (Do not overbake.) Cool on baking sheet 2 min. Remove to wire racks; cool completely.

Feeling Blessed

Well, I haven't blogged in over a week now. We really just haven't had much going on. As my summer days tick quickly away, we have just been hanging out and enjoying the last few weeks of our slow paced lives. We have had fun hanging out together and doing a few simple projects around the house. This past Saturday we made a trip to Lowes. Matt was trying to make a little more storage space in our attic for all of our junk:)! Jake doesn't usually like to sit in a cart, but he LOVED riding in this...
One thing I am so blessed with are my sisters. I have three beautiful sisters and they truly are my best friends. Matt and I received some upsetting news yesterday and they were all there to help me through. My sisters Kelly and Allison came over last night to hang out, keep me company, have dinner and watch a little girly t.v. We had so much fun and I love them so much!

They are the best aunts in the world!
Here are my two favorite boys in the world. Tonight we just spent some time together as a family. We had dinner together and just relaxed.
I'm not sure if you can see it in this picture, but poor little Jake got a bruise right under his eye. It isn't black as of now, but it may be by tomorrow. My poor baby was just playing this afternoon having a great time and then fell on a little toy. It must have hit him just right! I know that it won't be the last bump that little rascal gets!
I am lucky to have such a wonderful family!
I love you all!

A Trip To The Eye Doctor

(Jake looking a little unsure about things, but being such a big boy in the examination chair.)
Today we had to take Jake to the eye doctor. Since he's been born he has had a blocked tear duct. Most days it is just fine, but other days it looks pretty yucky. Our pediatrician said that they usually clear up on their own, but since his hasn't gotten any better we should go get it looked at. Jake did great! He sat pretty still while the doctor checked things out. She did have to dilate his pupils, which is no fun. For now, she gave us some eye drops to try and we are scheduled to go back for a check up in 4 weeks!

Happy 9 Month Birthday (a little late)

While we were gone at the beach last week my little man turned 9 months! Each month when I write this special post, it amazes me at all the new, fun things he is doing! I will say that 9 months had brought about lots of changes! He is such a sweet, sweet little boy! I just love him to pieces!
We just got back this morning from his 9 month check up (yeah, no shots!). He is growing into such a big boy! He is so strong and healthy!
Jake eats just about anything we give him. Every time Matt and I make our plate, Jake is right there wanting to see what we have! He loves being outside, loves to swim, loves to blow bubbles with me and is getting so good at playing ball!
He is also getting very good at performing some new "tricks". When Matt or I sing "If You're Happy and You Know It" Jake loves to claps his hands.
His best trick is "SO BIG"! He does this one ALL of the time!
Look at those legs! Yup, he's healthy! I just love them!

Happy 9 Month, Jake!
Mommy loves you!
XOXOXOXOXOXO

Riding the Waves at Surfside Beach

This past week my entire family packed up and headed to the beach. We look forward to this week so much every year. We always have such a great time and make so many memories! This year we had 3 new babies to take with us. Of course, our little guy Jake, and my new niece and nephew, Sophie and Hudson! It was a houseful, but we had loads of fun! I have lots of pictures to share so bare with me! I wanted you to see all of the fun we had!
Matt, Jake and I at Yum Yum's Ice Cream Shop one of our first nights there.

Jake loved the beach. He wasn't so sure about the ocean this time, but didn't mind spending his day up by the pool.

Jake and Matt out on the pier.

Here is my nephew Corban. He was so good at riding all the waves in and finding shark teeth!

Grammy and Jake taking a walk on the beach.

I love this picture of Jake and Sophie. They looked so cute riding on the surfboard together.

Matt and my sister KK playing a little corn hole. It seemed that there was always a game going on!

This was probably Jake's favorite part. He LOVED getting rinsed off in the shower to jump in the pool. He would just giggle and splash!

Matt and I enjoying our vacation!

Isn't he the cutest thing? Little Riley having some fun!

We took a few pics of our little family one night on the beach. It was really windy, but we managed to snap a few good ones. Jake is all smiles in this one!

PaPa and Grammy hanging out under the tent. Jake LOVED to eat ice pops for a cool treat!

My brother Steven was able to come down for a few days too!

One night we were able to gather all of the family together for a picture!
What a blessing it is to all be together!

I managed to snap this sweet, sweet picture of my little Sophie girl! She LOVED the water! A little water bug!

The kids in the water getting ready to play!

We normally eat at the condo every night, but we decided to take one night and eat together. We ate outside at River City Cafe. The wait was long, but we had fun!

Here are all my sisters with my mom.
It is always hard to wrap up the week and head home, but the good thing is the countdown until next year has already begun!

Our Fun On The Fourth!

We had a fantastic weekend! I absolutely love the 4th of July especially in our little town! We have a huge 4th of July festival complete with rides, music and a parade. It is always so much fun so we decided to ask my nephews and brother and sisters to hang out with us all weekend and celebrate with us! We had a blast!
Everyone came over Friday afternoon and we began our weekend with a pool party! The weather was gorgeous and the water was so refreshing!
Riley and Auntie Al swimming making a big splash in the pool!
Corban having fun in B's pool!

And of course the little fishy himself...always having a good time!

After an afternoon of swimming we went back to the house for a quick pizza party. It was just about time for us to head to the festival! Once we got there the boys (Corban, Riley and Uncle Matt too) wanted to go straight to the rides!

Here they go...Corban won the race!

Corban and Riley on the motorcycles! Don't crash Cor!

"Say Cheese!"

Jake and I hanging out and having some fun!

A quick picture.

One of the things we look forward to every year is the homemade ice cream! It was so yummy! Jake LOVED it (of course)!

The boy cousins by the Sheriff's car!

More fun at the festival!

After loads of fun at the festival and a late night watching fireworks...we woke up early to get a good seat at the parade!

Here we all are waiting for it to start!

The Army Trucks were pretty cool to see!
Matt was in the parade this year, so when his float came by we all cheered!

Saturday afternoon we loaded up and headed to my mom's for a cookout. We had hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, watermelon and so much more!

Matt and my brother Steven playing "Corn Hole". This was a new game that we bought. We were testing it out and plan on taking it to the beach with us next week! It was a lot of fun!

And of course one last picture...Sweet little Sophie and Jake.
They look so cute in their red, white, and blue!
Hope you had a good weekend too!

Not A Stitch, What A Cinch!

Ok...so I have been in a slightly crafty mood lately. I decided to try my hand at my very own "mistreatments". My sister has done a number of mistreatments so she helped me figure out how to make them for my own windows. You can find all of the directions on The Nester's blog. I went to Walmart yesterday to pick out my fabric, rod, and of course fringe. I am so pleased with the way they turned out! It brings the whole look of the room together! I can't believe how easy they were and you don't have to sew at all!
I have several windows in my house I want to tackle now! There is one room in particular that I want to do next. I am going to try floor length mistreatments on those windows. I can't wait to go pick out my fabric!
Here are a few recent picks of my little guy. I have snapped a few lately and just wanted to post them for fun!
Jake sporting his new jammies! I LOVE sweet little jammies! They make him look so cuddly and delicious!

Helping mommy decorate for the 4th of July!

Having a good ol time at the park!

Playing on the equipment like a big boy! So much fun!
We have BIG weekend plans for the 4th starting with my nephews, brothers and sisters all spending the night tomorrow night! Should be loads of fun!
Can't wait to share!
