Just Plain Busy

Where in the world has time gone? Things seem to have been so busy lately. I guess it is just that time of year. I only have 2 more weeks of school left! I can't believe it! I am so ready for a little summer down time! I can't wait to spend all day, every day with Jake! I have always worked during the summer so it will be a real treat to relax a little and just have some fun!
The weather here has been so nice lately. I love it when it is hot and it is definitely beginning to get warm. Matt finished up with coaching school baseball last week so we have enjoyed some time outside. We have been trying to walk in the evenings together. Jake isn't a big fan of sitting in his stroller so we don't always get very far. Our neighborhood pool opens this Saturday, can you believe it? It may be a little to cold to swim, but if it is nice, maybe we can catch a few rays:)!
The other day I took Jake out to play a little. He LOVES being outside as long as he is not strapped in that stroller!
Last night we had a little tooth episode, the first of many I'm sure. Mrs. Stacey had just sent me some pictures showing off his teeth (he has 4 with two more on the way). Well, Jake was on the floor playing on his belly. I was making him laugh and he got so excited that he lifted his arms off the ground and hit his tooth on the coffee table. I was afraid that he knocked it out, but everything seems to be OK!
This afternoon we went to Jake's 6 month doctor's appointment (a few weeks late, but oh well). He had to get 3 shots! He took them like a champ though. He cried for a minute, but recovered quickly (so did I) :). Jake weighs almost 20lbs! Such a big boy! The doctor asked us all sorts of questions about things he is doing. One thing that Jake has gotten really good at is crawling. It is more like an army crawl, but he can get wherever and whatever he wants. Today he was playing on the floor and the next thing we knew...he ended up here...
He didn't seem to mind one bit. He wanted his toys and this was the only way to get them! He is so quick! You can't take your eye off of him for a second!

So funny!

All smiles for the camera!
I love you to the moon and back!

A Very Special Guest

A few weeks ago, the Lord laid a special burden on my heart for my students at school. I am so blessed to work in a Christian school where I can freely share the Gospel and the love of Jesus with my students. As much as I am ready for the school year to come to an end, before it does, it is my ultimate responsibility to make sure that every one of my students has heard the Gospel and knows for certain that they will go to heaven when they die.
When I was growing up a precious lady named Edna Wilson worked with my dad in the children's ministry at our church. They both had such a unique gift in working with children. Now, I haven't seen Mrs. Wilson in a very long time, but her name came to my mind when I was thinking about how I was going to share with my students. Mrs. Wilson shares the Gospel message through chalk drawings. I knew that my kids would love to see her and would be very interested in how she presented the Gospel. I called her up and she said that she would be happy to come!
I prayed for this time for the last several weeks and of course on my way to school this morning. I met Mrs. Wilson and her husband at school early this morning to help her set everything up. Let me tell you, she did a WONDERFUL job presenting the Gospel to each and every student in that room. She had never done her chalk drawing to that young of a group before, but they loved it and hung on to every word that she said! Praise the Lord!
She started by sharing the "Wordless Book". It was really neat because we are making wordless books this week in my class! Now all of my students know how to make it and know how to share it with their friends!

She then turned off the lights and began to draw.

The finished product was beautiful! She explained again what everything meant and made it very clear that the only way to get to heaven was through the blood of Jesus. At the end of our time she gave them the opportunity to pray and receive Christ into their hearts. What a sweet time!
The kids ran up to her as soon as she was finished! They enjoyed it so much and were so well behaved!
It was so fun to spend time with someone so special. God is continuing to use Mrs. Wilson in amazing ways! A special thanks to her for giving up her time to come and share with us!

A Change In Plans...

Yesterday afternoon I went to the hospital to meet my new, sweet little nephew, Hudson. He was absolutley precious! My sister, Jenny, had him this past Thursday. He was 7lbs 3oz and was 19 inches long! I was so excited to meet this new little guy! Matt and I now have a total of 3 nephews and 4 nieces with another niece to be born in June! WOW! How fun! I was just sitting down to write this post this morning, my mom called me to let me know that Hudson has pneumonia. I don't know much of the details, but could you please, please pray for this little guy? They were planning on bringing him home today, but he will now have to stay for the next 7 days to be monitored. Jenny was SO, SO, SO ready to come home today to be with her other sweet kids!
Right now I lift up Baby Hudson to you. You are the Healer. Please heal his tiny body and clear away the pneumonia in his lungs. I know that you have a special plan for his life. Father, be with Jenny. I can only imagine how she is feeling. God, you have put her family together in such a unique and special way! We KNOW that YOU will work and be glorified though this!

I Am So Big!

Today Jake has reached the 6 month mark! I can't believe it! We have had a pretty crazy day though. I had to take my poor little buddy to the doctor today because he wasn't feeling good. Turns out he has his first ear infection. It just about broke my heart:(. I think he is already feeling a little better now that he got a little medicine in him. He took a 2 hour nap with me today, well more like on me. I didn't sleep a wink! When he woke up, he was back to his normal happy self!
.jpg" border=0> Yay! It's my 6 month birthday!
Jake is doing so many fun things now! He is rolling over like a champ and is cutting his 4th tooth! You better not stick your fingers to close to his mouth. I have learned that lesson!
He rolls just about anywhere to get what he wants. I have caught him up on all fours many times. He looks like he is about to crawl, but he doesn't quite get it yet. I don't think it will be long! If you look close in the pic above, you can see those two bottom teeth!

We also just started Jake on some rice cereal. He has taken right to it. Not a huge surprise. A little messy, but it is fun to see him chow down!
He doesn't looked to thrilled in this pic, but trust me, he loves it! Usually we can't feed it to him fast enough!

Jake LOVES to give Matt and I wet, slobbery kisses. I will take those kind from him anyday! They are just so sweet!
Happy 6th Month, Sweet Jake! I love you with all my heart!
P.S. Tomorrow my sister Jenny will be headed to the hospital to deliver Baby Hudson! We are anxious to meet our new nephew! We will be praying for you and will see you very soon!
We love you!

Easter Sunday Snapshots 2009

I love Easter time! It is one of my most favorite times of the year. It was a beautiful day outside yesterday to remember the Resurrection! We started off our morning with a time of worship at church. We went with Matt's parents to their church and then headed over to my families house for a delicious lunch.
Both of my boys looked so handsome in their Easter outfits!
A family Easter pic.
Jake with Meemaw and Papa after church.

It was so pretty outside that we decided to take a few more family pics. We found some pretty spots outside at my parents house and snapped a few.
Jake looks like such a big boy!

Here are Corban and Riley after finishing up their Easter egg hunt. They had a blast finding eggs around Grammy's yard (with a little help from Matt of course!).

My sweet little man!
I hope you all had a blessed day worshipping our RISEN SAVIOR and celebrating such a special day with your families!

A Fun Filled Weekend!

This weekend has been very busy, but so much fun! It has absolutely been gorgeous outside which has been perfect for all the things we took part in. Yesterday morning my sister Kelly came over and we went to a Easter egg hunt put on by a church right up the road. I know Jake is a little small to be going Easter egg hunting, but like I said, the weather was so pretty we just had to get out and enjoy it a little! Everyone was having so much fun. They put out 35,000 eggs for everyone to find! There were eggs everywhere!
Jake got his picture with the Easter Bunny.
I woke Jake up from a nap to take him out. He enjoyed being outside, but was still a little sleepy!
Jake and I finding eggs.

Our basket was full of all sorts of treats! It was time to head home and go back to our nap!

After we rested for a little, we loaded up again to head down to Panther's Stadium. Every year Matt and some of his buddies participate in a flag football tournament hosted by the Carolina Panthers.

The first few games they played were held on the practice fields, but the last game they actually got to play on the real field in the stadium.

Here is Matt throwing a pass! The guys always have a blast playing! Some years when they play it is gorgeous weather, like this weekend, but other times (like last year) we were buying hot chocolate to keep us warm! You just never know in April! Jake and I were proud of how well Daddy played!

A Perfect Evening

We have one more day of school until Spring break! Yippee! I am so excited to slow down a little and enjoy my time with Matt and Jake! I am looking forward to not having to run out the door in the mornings. My most favorite thing to do is get Jake up from his bed in the mornings. He is so sweet and cuddly and of course always smiling!
Mrs. Stacey made a very cute Easter basket for Jake and gave it to him today because she will not see him tomorrow. It was filled with books, a little stuffed bunny and Elmo Easter eggs stuffed with socks. Socks you ask? Yes, socks. She knew that there was no Easter candy that he would enjoy, but there is one thing Jake loves to eat and that is his socks. They are usually pulled off his feet when I pick him up or they are soaking wet! Mrs. Stacey knows what he likes!

Happy Easter from me!

Which pair should I eat first?
Jake picked up a cold from somewhere so we both changed into our jammies a little early tonight and cuddled all evening. He was still in such a happy mood and had a blast playing and rolling all over the floor. This is his newest little trick. He would roll over occasionally before, but he definitely has the hang of it now!

Looking so sweet in his jammies.
I hope he feels better soon!

In My Easter Basket...

Yesterday I ran out to Target and to Hobby Lobby to pick up a few Easter goodies to fill some baskets with. Hobby Lobby is a GREAT place to pick up seasonal items. Most of the time it is on sale or you can just print out a coupon on line. As I was shopping for others, I picked up a few of my favorite Easter items! These are some treats that I want in my basket this year:)!
Easter is not the same without jellybeans of course! I am not a huge fan of the regular kind, but have you tried these?
These are the BEST and every color gets eaten up! They are ALL good!
I also love some bubblegum!
Of course the flavor doesn't last long, so the bag gets eaten pretty fast around my house!

And of course I just can't get enough of this sweet little treat!
Jake had a little Easter fun today! I will take this treat in my basket any day!
